Stops teeth grinding and snoring
I originally purchased these to use with my CPAP machine. I use a nose pillow mask, but my mouth was still coming open at night. These are much better than the original Resmed one that I started with and half the price. The chin part is softer and the straps are wider and more comfortable. I did make the slit longer to fit my head better. Sometimes if I have a restless night and move around too mulch, it will slip forward and not hold my mouth. I just pull the strap back in place and go back to sleep. They wash up well and dry quickly. I was surprised that the side effects was that I was no longer grinding my teeth and made my tmj pain stopped. That was a nice extra benefit. You have to experiment with the tightness and where best to place it on your head so it does not come off during the night, but once you find the sweet spot on your own head, it works great.

A quick tip that may help…
My husband uses these to make his CPAP effective. He has used the name brand ones because that’s what the company sent and they are covered by insurance, but only at rather long intervals. My husband’s disease is dementia, so they are often misplaced or even fall apart before we are eligible for a new one since he can be rough on things, lacking the comprehension to be careful. The CPAP doesn’t work without the strap so it is critical we always have an extra on hand. That brought me here and I decided to go with this choice since it is basically just for backup.Overall I think these are at least as good as the name brand, but there are two flaws I note…1. Directions are not clear and are unnecessarily complicated. The chin pocket has a smooth side and a velvet side. My intuition was to put the velvet side out, just as you would wear it with clothing. When it didn’t work well I looked at the pictures and realized it should be worn velvet side next to the skin. The directions don’t explicitly state this but the photos are clear and when worn this way, the complications with the strap go away. Velvet side next to the skin also puts seams away from skin so it becomes a very gentle chin pocket when worn properly. The product is fine put the directions need improvement.2. The other flaw is with the slit in the strap. It only works if your head is exactly the right size. My husband’s head is large. This strap fits fine but when secured, the slit is off center, so can’t be split as shown in illustrations. It still works for him when used as a single strap but it can’t be spread for additional stability. I looked at whether I could lengthen the slit but, while I could cut it with a pair of scissors, the lengthened slit would not be long enough to fix things.I see some people don’t like the long strap when used on a smaller head. That really is a problem that can be solved with scissors. Once you have your fit you can cut it to size.Overall, this is a good value. For us it is certainly good enough for backup. We will continue to use this one as a primary for at least a while.

An affordable solution for mouth breathers
Chin Straps have a tenancy to slip off, but when placed properly, they work extremely well. I tried cutting the head band, giving more separation, but it didn't help for me. I did cut the adjustment strap(s) to make them fit more comfortably. I've been using it for over a month and it works, keeping my mouth from drying out. It has only slipped off once in the time that I've been using it when I was sleeping on my side.

Does not fit like information
Ordered 2. One did not keep my wife from snoring (she did have it on correctly). The other strap slit ran from the top of my head down to the middle of my ear. Loo for something else.

Not great
Arrived quickly...that's the high point. Now for the rest. Chin cup is very soft on your skin but too small and shallow to keep its place. Side straps are soft as well but to soft and stretchy, adjust it to fit and it stretches loose very quickly. Also cutting the head strap to aid in holding it in place results in an offset head gear. Not a great buy when it doesn't perform as advertised.Update*** While these straps didn't perform well for me,(Male 6'2"" 230 lbs) they may perform for others. What I would want to point out is that the manufacturer contacted me and made it right. THAT IS RARE! I wouldn't hesitate to try other products from them.
