Basic OBD2 scanners are all the same and run up to about $50, without overpaying(which is imminently easy to do!) At %30 Off, this was $20 delivered(). And also came with small handful of really clutch features! Most OBD2 scanners need to be plugged in(for each use) and controlled from a crudely basic control box that has a very limited number of buttons(true through more expensive models also). But this item offers Bluetooth connectivity with your smartphone, making the (Graphic)User Interface, and total amounts of Data displayed go from night to day(.) Of the small percentage of OBD2 scanners on the market that are Bluetooth; an even smaller percentage come with their own App. Most Bluetooth OBD2 scanners say "Recommended by These Apps" and refers to a list of 3rd Party App Vendors for you to become involved with; some free some not, some basic some over your head.) But this product comes with it's own application, tried and tested to work with it's own product! Similar Bluetooth OBD2 scanners, that come with a dedicated App, are mostly in the >$100 range! The QR to the app is printed directly on the user manual included, for both iOS and Android compatibility. At that two more things. Firstly is that it was all quite simple to use. There are not very many steps to setup. And navigating within the App is also simple. Secondly the App is a little more extensive than your average basic OBD2 scanner. There are just more functions available(aside from code scanning and clearing) like Performance testing, Datastreaming, I/M(Inspection/Maintenance,) Mode 06(Emmissions,) etc. All which, again, are infinitely easier to read/compare on a smartphone touchscreen than the average digital(character only) screen and few lonely buttons of your traditional Basic-Advanced plug in OBD2 scanners! It almost lost a star because the printed set of directions never mentions when to turn the car on during setup. I actually had to refer to the product description here on Amazon to read of when/how to turn the key of the car. At that it does not make special note that you actually need to turn the car on, where as with most traditional obd2 scanners it is important that you only turn the ignition On(/Accessory) and do not fully start the vehicle. And it almost lost a star because there are two different warranties listed within product contents. There is a QR code to a Lifetime Warranty printed directly onto the scanner itself. But then there is a Warranty card that comes within the literature included, that mentions a 12 month warranty; though this Warranty has no mention of Registration. But I'm overall very happy with how easy it is to clear my engine code! The unit is meant to be left plugged in to track Trip metrics. I've had mine plugged in for the past couple months. I've been very pleased not to need to pull over, and plug a box in; to read any engine code that also might come up or recurs. Being able to check a code/light, within moments of it first turning on; via a cradled iPhone, prove extremely beneficial! And, otherwise, it's Time to Clock some Performance Data(!)

As the title says its helpful that it tells you what the codes are for and even gives a list of possible culprits. I bought this to track my mpg using the trip function in the app which is helpful but could use some refinement. It would be helpful to be able to delete entries and the uploads for the entries are kind of random. Doesn’t draw a ton of power i have accidentally left it in before but the led’s on it help you to not forget Easy to pair and the instructions are straightforward

I got this because my check engine light came on suddenly a few weeks ago. I wanted to first see if the issue was caused by something I could resolve before handing over large sums of money to a mechanic. This product was reasonably priced, so I decided to just roll the dice and give it a try. My car was due for yearly inspection, and it will not 'pass' if any diagnostic codes are found. First, this product is VERY easy to use. It took a minute or 2 to figure out how the buttons work for navigation, but not too long. I didn't need any instruction manual or anything. I plugged it in to the diagnostic port and the scanner quickly found 1 code: P0422 "Evaporative System Emission leak (small leak)". I had NO idea what that was and simply googled it. The most common cause listed was something wrong with your Gas Cap: Either loose or defective. According to all the stuff on Google, it COULD be something more serious, but these were the most likely causes. I was immediately RELIEVED that the cause was most likely not 'serious'. I made sure the Gas Cap was tight. That didn't work. I cleaned the Gas Cap with WD-40 and tried again. That didn't work. Check engine light stayed on for a couple more days. Finally, I inspected the gas cap with a light and magnifier and saw 'cracks' and stuff from time/age. So, I found and bought a replacement Gas Cap off Amazon for about $8 bucks and replaced my gas cap. A couple days later, I noticed the checked engine light had turned off and I haven't seen it since. This was DEFINITELY worth the money to see if it was an issue I could resolve myself before spending money and TIME at the mechanic. It gave me a QUICK and accurate reading that let me fix the issue.

I love this one its very easy to use

Wasn’t sure if this would work, was happy to discover it does. Extremely easy to use. I was use to android and torque which I still prefer. This gives me the data I need for the right price. For apple/iPhone this is the go to imo. Literally turn on the car, plug it in, open the app, enter vehicle description and that’s it. Plug and play.

It is amazing how much information is available with this device, especially at this price. It has been very helping in sorting out issues on my wife's car. It pairs to the app quickly and easily. I took off one star because the app needs a little work. The interface is a bit confusing to navagate, and some features are hard to find. And, when you turn off the car, the app loses the data. It would be really nice if it would retain the data from the last reading, so that you can take it inside to do research. I can do screenshots, but that isn't convenient. Other than that, I am very satisfied with this.

I ordered this OBD2 scanner because my old code reader was outdated, and I wanted real-time data while working on my 2010 Escalade. I’ve always been a little skeptical of Bluetooth scanners, but within minutes of using this one, I was honestly wishing I had picked it up years ago. The setup and connectivity were incredibly fast and seamless. Once connected, I was blown away by how much information the app provides. Right away, it showed over 30 different live data points while the engine was running including pressures, fuel usage percentages, and more. When I ran a diagnostic scan, it walked me through every vehicle option I could think of. After selecting my vehicle, it clearly displayed the codes, explained what they meant, and even offered suggestions on possible causes and where to start looking. After making a few adjustments based on those suggestions, I cleared the codes with a single tap, and moments later the vehicle was ready for the next test. During test drives, the real-time data was extremely helpful. I could see exactly when a code triggered, at what speed, and under what conditions something my old scanner could never do. Another big plus is how easily this works across different vehicles. I’ve already swapped it between cars with no issues at all. Overall, this scanner is powerful, easy to use, and packed with features. I genuinely wish I had ordered it years ago. Highly recommend for anyone who works on their own vehicles or just wants better insight into what’s going on under the hood.

Efficient and easy to use

I am impress with this gadget. I am not mechanic but those traditional ODB way heavier. But this would fit even in your pocket. And when I tried it. It works well. Happy withthis buy. And the price it wont break your bank.

The scanner did not work. It hooked up to my 2016 Camry but dropped the signal immediately.
