Wonderful underwater camera but.......
I purchased this cpamera (Panasonic DC-TS7) back in mid January anticipating a trip to Hawaii. The camera worked beautifully and I did get some great reef pictures on day 1. After carefully cleaning the camera and setting up for the next day's adventure I tried to turn in back on but to no avail. I did follow the precautions regarding rinsing and carefully drying the camera and made sure there was no dirt or sand in the access door when I closed it. Not sure if this is a repairable/common issue or not. As mentioned, I love the camera and have purchased many Panasonic cameras in the past. Can someone please advise me on how to proceed - either a fix or a trade. Thanks, Gib

Complicated, Low Resolution, Low Quality
After waiting weeks for this to ship, we were very disappointed in its performance and returned it. Like its predecessors (I own the TS3), this camera is quite complex to use. Admittedly, I never figured out the 4K burst function and the video function didn't work every time (sometimes I recorded a video, sometimes I didn't). Regular photographs shot on the highest resolution produced only 180 dpi, so every shot is slightly pixelated. I understand the frustration with focus that other reviewers have mentioned, yet the criticism is somewhat unwarranted -- the instructions are very clear on the need to slightly depress the button, focus and then shoot. My landscape photos looked good. But on zoomed shots, it was nearly impossible to get a good focus (even with the macro enabled). While I did get a few good shots during three different occasions, I had to toss at least a third due to focus issues and pixelated images. When every shot counts, that's too much to risk.

SOFT FOCUS ON ALL PICTURES
I have tried every setting on this camera while trying to obtain a sharp image. Even with 0% magnification of images finds them soft. Any zooming into the frame immediately and vividly displays the weakness of the focus. I am very disappointed. In the process of giving this inadequate instrument every chance, I let my 30 day return slip away. It will cost me $90 for "restocking," but I will take it because this irreparable junk.

Not all that it was advertised
Not user friendly, picture quality marginal especially videos. I did make a mistake in this purchase!

Shake down for two days... Impressed
Purchased the Japanese model. Upgraded firmware to 1.3. Camera performed well. Looking forward to trying underwater at depths would flood its competitors. Update: took it diving in the Silfra fissure in Iceland. Bottom line. Glad I bought this camera. Added some more photos.

Finally A Waterproof Camera with Viewfinder
Love having evf. Heavier than previous model ,TS5. Have to adjust reach for telephoto toggle. Features similar to other Lumix models. Wifi connection setup not user friendly, have to turn on through menu rather than button on back like TS5

This camera has lots of modes to play with and takes really nice photos! I wanted something that I could take diving but still take nice photos outside of underwater. I am very happy with this! It's more affordable than the professional camera I wanted and takes really great photos for what it is. Works great for what I use it for and it is wonderful underwater.

This is my 5th Panasonic camera. Its rugged. It may be a bit higher in price than comparable cameras, but dam it takes good pictures. Its got a nice grip, but its pretty compact so you can toss it in your pocket. Its rugged as hell. You can drop this thing on the tile, bury it in sand, and have it smashed against a coral reef by the waves ( all in 1 day...) and it still keeps ticking. Controls are minimal and easy to use, even with gloves on. Screen is bright an clear. It has a small viewfinder on the top, but I normally just use the screen as the viewfinder is also digital. Its more rugged than hell. This isnt a GoPro, its better, as you can actually use it just like a normal camera or video camera. This camera is so rugged that you would feel totally fine holding it while snowboarding, doing jumps and stuff, and then throwing it to your friend 30 feet away to use. And im talking about a solid over-hand throw like a baseball, not some underhanded weak beanbag toss. Also, bright-ass orange, so when you drop it while swimming you can see it shining on the bottom and find it. Yup

Features I like: 1. the EVF is a freat feature. 2: the MMI is the same as my other Lumix camera, so no great learning, and 3. I find the photo quality to be very good. Features I don't like: 1. Had to slow down for point and shoot since this camera is slower than others I have used. 2. when in underwater mode, it would be useful to disable the other buttons since I accidentally changed mode simply because my fingers are clumsy. 3. You need to realize that any underwater shots at the less than 3 m depth are compromised by turbidity and bubbles. Very happy with my shots in the Galapagos as well as getting drowned under the Iguasu falls. There were some problems with condensation on the monitor as temperatures plunged in the sea, but the most concerning were condensation on the lens of the camera, which were difficult to clear in the 100% humidity abord the boat. Next best feature is that is it 1/3 the weight and much smaller size than my FZ1000. So I now have a camera that I can put in my pocket and deploy anytime.
