I had two safes stacked on top of each other. After one fo them finally broke, I decided to get this baby instead and sold the other safe to a friend. Please remember, these are not theft proof at all! These are fire safes to gift the fire dept time to put the flames out before your valuables and important papers burn up. If someone breaks in, this safe makes it harder to grab and go and gives the police time to respond. The size is perfect for everything that I had in the two 2.0 safes. If you want a safe that will keep people out, then you will need to spend $1000 plus for a true secure safe. I wanted something as a deterrent that was too heavy to run down the stairs with and that did not break the bank in price. This was the perfect choice! This baby is not going anywhere since it is large and stable. I have had no issues with the lock, buttons or battery backup. I recommend replacing the battery every quarter to make sure that you have no issues at all.

I ordered this safe because I wanted something a little taller than the compact safes and something that can hold my laptop and hard drives when I travel and this one works great. We had a prior version that was shorter and it was a challenge to get down on the floor to open it. For this one, you do need to sit, but the keypad is close to eye level. Also, the interior shelves are adjustable and so I can put them at the height I need for the various items I am storing. If more shelves are needed, you can call the vendor (toll free number on the manual) to purchase more. Additional options for shelving can also be purchased, such as a hanging file, but I opted for a file box (that can lay on its side) for important documents. I have had this for three months and still love it and the size. The only issue is that the interior has an odd odor, probably from the chemical used to fire-protect it and so I will put a baking soda box in it to see if that helps.

I purchased this safe about a year and a half ago, and the door no longer closes or locks properly. For a product that’s supposed to protect valuables, this is completely unacceptable. When I contacted customer service, they refused any return or replacement, saying the warranty was expired. Their only “solution” was to literally push my entire body weight against the door—especially the left side—while entering the code and trying to force the handle to turn. They even suggested having a second person help push so the gasket would compress. I’m sorry, but if a safe requires two adults to shove the door just to close it after 18 months, that’s a design failure, not a fix. Do NOT purchase this model. It’s unreliable, the support is unhelpful, and the safe becomes useless exactly when you need it most.

I looked and looked for the right size safe. This one is perfect, width and height and depth. Shelves are what I needed and these are sturdy and felt covered. My coins are heavy and it holds it all. It will also store your handguns. Coded, easy to use. Very happy with this purchase.

At the time I ordered it Amazon showed it to be out of stock but it was shipped within just a few days. It arrived via truck freight. The guy that delivered it was without a doubt the best delivery guy I have ever dealt with. He brought it down my 300 ft drive way and was willing to bring it in the house. Wish I had paid attention to the company he worked for so I could let them know. Now for the safe itself. I did some research before ordering this safe. It was exactly as I expected it to be. Came with three easily adjustable shelves. From removing it from the box to putting valuables in it literally takes just a few minutes. We built ours into a wall so that we are getting some use of previously wasted space under a staircase but you can put it into any unused space and be good to go. If you don't build it into a space I would highly recommend bolting it to a wall or floor. The hardware is included. Use it. Although a couple hundred pounds sounds heavy, the safe is actually quite easy to tip.

The safe's rubber seal did not extend fully around the inside. The door was offset slightly causing the door to stick when closing and opening at the upper most bolt side of the safe. I will most likely grind it down a little to make it close better. Two of the shelf brackets were broke. I have contacted Sentry safe over these items. I will see if it gets resolved. But overall I am EXTREMELY happy with the safe.

The safe arrived early, kudos to the delivery personnel. Initially, they could not find the safe on their truck because side of the shipping box with the address label was face down and separated from the rest of the box. I presume this was a loading issue and some items may not have been secured for transport somewhere along the lengthy journey from China to Northeastern US. Generally pleased with the purchase. A few issues to highlight. The safe has about five or six scratches or bruises on the exterior; none major. Probably the result of handling. The safe was dusty inside and out. The left front shelf bracket was loose with two screws dislodged and unable to be firmly reinserted. I made a workaround. The safe must have been sitting in a warehouse for some while. There was some white powder material in various places inside the safe, probably from the insulation and (rough) handling again. Some of the interior covering material was loose. Likely, again related to repeat handling. Finally, the door handle is a little loose. Quality of product – A. Shipping and delivery – A-. Condition of product – B.

A very sturdy, heavy and decent safe for the money. I love everything except one thing: The cheap, plastic battery holder. Removing it was fairly easy but it took me 30 minutes to get it to snap back into place. Why they went cheap here is beyond me! They could have added a metal container and attach it with a screw. That's the only flaw this safe has. Plenty of room inside. It's fairly easy to move around even for one person so if you are looking at the safe as a primary security you are going to want to bolt it to the wall of ground (It comes with the bolts). Not an issue for me as my home is alarmed and my primary reason for this safe is fire protection.

Stores a lot of stuff and easy to program. Was delivered very fast.

We bought this safe in February of this year and by one employee closing the safe with a little too much force - both the handle and lock were busted to the extreme. We asked if we could get a replacement because it was on warranty, they said no - in order to get a replacement they have to try all troubleshooting before requesting the replacement. Because the handle was broken they are sending a replacement handle with a 9 page instruction booklet on how to replace with a number of tools we would have to acquire and take the time out of our work days in order fix... Overall, very disappointed that they do not have technicians or service people they can send out to fix their products. They essentially expect you to find an available locksmith, pay for those services, and hope it doesn't happen again.. We simply wanted a replacement or someone to service the safe and they were unable to accommodate that. I would not recommend Sentry Safe if you are looking for a reliable safe with helpful customer service.

Excellent product delivered when promised. The programming is simple and no problems with the keypad entry to report. Great purchase.

Nice safe for an entry level price. Works as expected, no problems with setup or use. Daily use over the past few weeks have been fine. Electronic keypad works fine, but also nice to have a keyed override.
