Very good
I used it in a lip balm. It's good, gorgeous color, though still playing with the shades.

Bold concentrated color, pH-stable, easyish to clean
I got this for DIY cold-process soapmaking, so my testing is geared towards its suitability for soapmaking. Color: dark red. Basically rust-colored, because iron oxide IS rust. Texture: very fine, similar to mica pigments or crushed eyeshadow, easy to mix, good for crafts. Stability: I tested it in high, neutral and low pH solutions. I'm specifically interested in high-pH performance because soap batters are, of course, highly alkaline, but it's easy enough to throw in a low-pH trial while I was at it. I prepared the high-pH solution by adding 1/4 tsp washing soda (sodium carbonate) to 50ml water, The low-pH solution is 1/4 tsp citric acid. The neutral pH is, of course, plain water. The pigment remained the same color in all 3 solutions, which is great news for me. It's quite tricky to find soap-safe pigments in red and blue, so this is a winner! Cleanup: important because, naturally, I don't want my soap to stain people's sinks and bathtubs. It doesn't rinse off completely with just water, leaving red streaks in my containers and stainless steel sink, but it does wash off completely with soap. No need for specialty cleaners. That's about as much as I can ask. Overall, this is a great red pigment. No complaints from me. 5/5.

Bright rust-red color. Good for diy makeup
I used this as a coloring agent for some homemade lipstick Pure iron oxide has a slightly orange cast to it, so I added some powdered beets to mellow it out into a more brick red color

GOOD QUALITY
I got the 100g (3.52 oz) resealable container, and the fine texture of this powder is just perfect for blending smoothly into various products. In my everyday life, I've primarily been using it for DIY formulations, and it's been an absolute dream. I've successfully made my own custom lipsticks and blushes, and the rich pigmentation truly provides such deep, consistent color. It's so satisfying to create my own makeup shades! Beyond cosmetics, I've also ventured into soap making, and this pigment has performed wonderfully there too, adding beautiful colors to my handcrafted soaps. The versatility is amazing, being compatible with materials like silk, wood, leather, plastic, cotton, and wool โ though I haven't tried all of them yet, it's exciting to know the possibilities! This pigment is incredibly useful for anyone who loves crafting or making their own beauty products

Not the colour shown on package
I bought this based on the image shown on the package. I needed to make red lip balms, red lip glosses and blush. It's very rusty and cannot use it for what I needed it for Very disappointed
