How many servings does one packet make?

According to package 3. But it all depends how dense u want it to be. I like it more flavorful and thicker so for me it is more like 2 servings. You can also add potatoes, sausage and boiled egg, all this will stretch ur servings.

Are there general instructions in English? The packet looks like mushrooms can be added too?

Yes, there are English instructions on the back. I have never added mushrooms to this soup. It is good on its own. Some people add hard boiled eggs or sliced sausage which may be a better choice than mushrooms. I do not add anything. That is my preference.
