It does fit the R5 Mark II nicely. But I recommend using fixed focal length lenses. While it does work with the 15-35 and the 24-70 mm f2.8 lenses. you will not be able to put it on the briefcase mode as you have to sit the camera far back and your viewfinder will interfere with the movement if you try. I also had a smallrig cage for my camera and although it is designed to fit the RS4 series it would not fit the RS 4 mini. You can still screw on the plate to the bottom of your cage and use it but it would have been nice if they didn't slightly change the sliding mechanism's so that I could slide the camera into the gimball without needing to attach their base plate. The intelligent tracking is nice to follow a person's head. It would be nice if they added functionality for it to track your hands instead of your face. Sure you can slightly change the composition of how it tracks you but there is a limit of how much you can point it away from your face. If they Just add ability to track hands, also add ability to track animals or vehicles as well and it would be fantastic. Overall I think I will keep this one. I had tried the RS4 and RS4 pro before and found them way too bulky. This one is smaller, more affordable and even has the ability to connect to your camera while also using the tracker. The other RS4 models you are limited to either connecting to the camera or the tracker. This one can do both. It can adjust the focus of my R5 and start stop recording with the buttons on the gimball. I tried bluetooth remote and didn't have any luck connecting to my camera. But the USB cable does a fine job of it.

My first gimbal and an absolute winner. Tried it with a Canon R50V + 18-150 and with an R5 II + 35/1.4 and it was fast to get balanced and then operated flawlessly. The face tracker is first class and easy to use and especially with the second handle (I got the bundle) is very easy to hold and maneuver. Also tried it with a Shinobi II monitor mounted to the handle with a curly HDMI cable to the camera - I though the varying tension of the cable might throw it off but it worked great. Seems very nicely made and just works in minutes from unpacking. Charges fast too - only drawback would seem to be the non-replaceable battery but the light weight is a real positive.

use this with my iphone 17 pro max. highly recommend. tracking kind if iffy at times. great size and weight. my biggest con is that the battery isnt removable

Update: not only did I watch my $5,000 camera / lens hit the ground because this snapped in half at the handle. My camera and my lens weigh just over 2 lbs. Yet this is rated for 4.4 lbs Which now I know is only held together by a small piece of metal on one side with tiny little screws and what seems to have broke on the other side thin pieces of plastic with tiny little screws. But I found out that I have to send it in which takes 2 weeks then it will take at least 2 weeks to fix it so I'm out the product that I need for my business. For over a month. Unless you want a similar experience I highly recommend you do not do business with DJI. Update: Honestly the more I use this the more I realize it was not built properly So today I learned that you cannot use the Bluetooth functionality and the wired functionality at the same time. Which means you can connect it to your camera via the cable and control the focus ISO aperture but you cannot control the zoom because that only works via the Bluetooth functionality And they cannot be used at the same time. Such a waste of good technology Previous review: Started off with a really bad experience * it shook the entire time moving left or right with the joystick (even with being perfectly balanced) * calibration didn't work after many tries failed every time * the update process took 2 tries because the app fully crashed during the first try * dji forces you to log in and give them so many permissions just to use it after 5 trys which includes turning it off/ which i had to do because out of the box it wasn't working properly at all Cons: * the screen doesn't always work when you try to swipe and the UI is definitely not beginner user friendly * too many steps to be able to make basic changes/ especially changes to the joysticks movement ie slowing it down/ far too many steps you have to take within their menu by swiping down picking the part that you need to use and then making your adjustments Should have been on the first screen as that's one of the most important parts F- after you go through and make all of your adjustments as soon as you turn it off they're all gone you have to start over from scratch every time you turn it on * the locking motors is one of the best features I've ever seen on a gimbal don't get me wrong but it takes too long to turn back on * no way to track non human subjects/ there is no camera app that gives you Ai tracking functionality like other much cheaper brands * no phone mount came with the over $500 gimbal * no case came with it *screw to hold phone is Extremely short *dial wheel is way to small made for tiny fingers/ hard to use it smoothly with larger fingers Honestly for the price you pay they should have included a case and the phone mount they are always included with cheaper gimbal brands they give you them for even $150 gimbals.. very disappointing That combined with all the out of the box issues Definitely not a good start or a good company first impression so far... I will update my review after I get a chance to try it again Update: Honestly it's not a bad gimbal and its ability to perform the motions properly, but the overall thought process of the UI screen layout and the basic functions being hid in different menus that don't always work especially when you need them to considering the touch screen is not flawless. That combined with the fact that it doesn't have a dedicated AI camera app that you can use that gives you abilities with the AI tracking module and access to the settings so that you can work it properly in the first place, like every other brand out there including the much much cheaper ones Just shows that DJI cares about your money but not about giving you what you're paying for. Me fue mal con este estabilizador , al llegar todo perfecto estuve un par de meses así y después de la nada y estando guardado el Joystick se daño quedo bailando y he tratado de hacer de todo. Actualizar, soplar con un soplador de Pc a ver si era un sucio pero nada, definitivamente perdí el dinero por que si no puedo usar el joystick no tiene sentido y lo peor de todo es que este estabilizador lo envié a Venezuela y devolverlo a Amazon no es rentable . piénsenlo bien si están fuera de USA. DJI Dame un soporte o como puedo hacer para ver si hay una solución ??

Quick Release Plate Compatibility Issues: Standard quick-release plates from PGYTECH, Falcam, etc., are not compatible with the stock plate. Balancing Challenges with Quick Release Adapters: If you try to mount a quick-release base on top of the OEM quick-release plate, it pushes the camera further out, increasing torque. This setup prevents the depth adjustment of the roll axis from being pushed down any further—at least with an FX30 paired with a Tamron 17-70mm f/2.8 or Sirui 23mm f/1.2. I couldn't balance the depth portion of the roll axis so I took off my quick release plates. Potential Motor Stress: While the motors may compensate for minor balance issues, it can lead to overheating and reduced battery life. Solution: SmallRig is releasing a third-party quick-release plate with standard Arca-Swiss compatibility, which should resolve these balancing issues. Ho ricevuto oggi il DJI RS 4 Mini e dopo averlo provato posso dire subito una cosa: è davvero un ottimo gimbal eccelle in tutto quello che fa. Una volta capito come montarlo e bilanciarlo, sia in orizzontale che in verticale, diventa veloce e pratico da usare. All’inizio bisogna farci un po’ la mano e fare qualche prova, ma già dopo un qualche utilizzo sono diventato operativo senza problemi. Il passaggio da orizzontale a verticale nel mio caso ha richiesto un piccolo ribilanciamento, ma una volta capito il sistema si fa abbastanza velocemente. L’ho collegato alla mia Sony A6700 e ha funzionato subito senza problemi. I controlli funzionano bene e si possono personalizzare i tasti. Ad esempio ho impostato il tasto di accensione per passare da autofocus a manual focus, e ho ancora il tasto C1 libero da programmare sul gimbal. Il tracking base funziona bene e in generale tutte le funzioni che ho provato funzionano come devono. Anche il controllo dello zoom l’ho testato e non ho avuto problemi. Una cosa che mi ha colpito è che funziona bene in tutto. Non è solo stabilizzazione: è un sistema completo e molto pratico. Secondo me qui si vede proprio un salto tecnologico notevole rispetto ai gimbal che ho avuto prima. I miei precedenti erano il Ronin Sc e il Zhiyun Crane m3s, e devo dire che qui siamo proprio su un’altra generazione. Migliora praticamente tutto. La cosa che mi ha colpito di più è questa: funziona bene su tutto. E quando dico su tutto intendo davvero tutto: è pratico è veloce da montare e smontare si collega facilmente via Bluetooth spegni il gimbal, lo riaccendi, accendi la fotocamera e trovi tutto già collegato i comandi sono al posto giusto tutto è pensato bene per l’utilizzo reale È uno di quei prodotti che prendi e usi senza stress. l gimbal inoltre non è pesante e si tiene bene in mano. Ho montato una configurazione che è circa un chilo e l’ha gestita tranquillamente. Io ho preso la versione combo con la valigetta e la manopola aggiuntiva, e lo trovo davvero versatile. Se devo trovare dei punti migliorabili direi questi: i materiali sono buoni ma non perfetti al 100% (direi comunque molto vicini al massimo) il tracking funziona bene sulle persone ma sarebbe stato bello avere almeno anche il tracking per animali come i cani quando si rimuove il modulo di tracking rimangono i contatti scoperti, avrei preferito una piccola protezione o un tappo Detto questo, sono dettagli. La cosa importante è che è un gimbal che ti viene voglia di usare, perché è veloce e pratico. Con altri gimbal spesso finivo per lasciarli a casa perché troppo scomodi da montare. Per il prezzo che ha è davvero difficile chiedere di più. Io l’ho pagato 379€ versione combo e sinceramente lo considero un affare. Anche se costasse di più secondo me ne varrebbe comunque la pena, anche il doppio di quello che ho pagato. Se fate video e siete creator, il mio consiglio è semplice: comprate questo gimbal. Per quello che offre vale probabilmente molto più di quello che costa.

One of my favorite pieces of equipment while shooting with my Sony a6700, primarily because it offers a perfect balance of portability and performance for smaller setups. For beginners or those moving into hobbyist videography, the autofocus integration and Ronin app features are seamless; I found that controlling camera parameters and triggering the shutter via Bluetooth made the workflow incredibly efficient. The native vertical shooting is also a major plus if you’re producing content for social media, as it doesn't require extra mounting hardware to switch orientations. However, as I begin moving into cinema camera work, the physical limitations of the Mini have become more apparent. While the 2kg (4.4 lbs) payload is generous for a mirrorless body and a prime lens, it struggles once you add a cage, a monitor, or heavier cine-glass. I can hear the motors screaming so I’m now upgrading to the RS 4 Pro to handle that extra weight and larger camera footprints. If you are sticking to the a6000-series or smaller cameras, this is a fantastic entry point, but professionals should consider the "Pro" version to future-proof their rig
