6/17/2022 edit: Spearhead messaged me the day after the review below posted and linked to "my" review to see if I had a similar issue of an "Amazon Customer" who bought the same filter. I told them that was actually my review and explained the review was accurate. They apologized and said they sent the fitment issue to their production manager and the old style would go back into production. They also sent 2 of the old-style filters to me, unprompted. I was surprised at the lengths they went to make sure all their customers are satisfied, and that they want their continued satisfaction. I liked their filters before this latest endeavor and will continue to be a customer of theirs in the future.----This would've been my 4th Spearhead filter for my Focus. They updated the filter model (BE-920) and the filter area is now taller than the filter it was supposed to replace. The old style filter is on the left in the picture, and the new style is on the right. They are miss-aligned on purpose to show that there is more filter surface area in the new filter (normally a good thing), but that increased height means it no longer fits in my Focus' filter housing. The creases in the top and bottom sides and filter pleats in the new style is from trying to get it into my Focus' filter housing. It only got half in before I stopped trying to get it in further and put the old filter in to process a return. The old style doesn't have such creases due to slightly smaller filter area, and the fuzzy top and bottom sides has more play so it can slide right into the same filter housing.These are great filters and they are changed due to age and not because they stop doing their job properly. 11/12/2022: The manufacturer contacted me after complaint that the redesigned filter doest not fit. They apologized and sent me two replacements right away for my trouble. Happy to report they correctly fit and I'm a happy camper.-------------------I've purchased the same unit annually the past 4 years without issue. The most recent purchase Oct 2022 was a redesigned filter. It's too large to fit and given its rigid design cannot be compressed (the baffles are oriented vertically and stiff). The included installation instructions no longer applied to my vehicle as they did in the past (minor but a warning perhaps). I found a past reviewer reported the same fit issue in June 2022 and the manufacturer responded.I'm troubled that old stock is still being sold when they know it's defective. I would follow up with the manufacturer directly for warranty claim but I cannot find any contact details and there is no feedback mechanism provided on Amazon short of the Returns for "defective" reasons or these product reviews. I'm forced to either return it silently for refund or post a negative review to get the word out. Previously I was a happy customer for the past 5 years for 2 vehicles and would buy again otherwise.

Took 30 minutes to install something that usually take 10. Don't get me wrong its an excellent value for the price but the activated charcoal makes this one BIG Bytch to install. Especially in an already cramped space. Love the price but I'll stick to something more supple for now on. Will recommend if you have more room to work with but if you got a Focus be warned lol

First filter purshaced in 2022 had a nice scent added to it, the one purchaded in july 2023 doesn't :(

Like that it adds charcoal to filter.

Location of cabin air filter is under the dash in a very hard to get to location. I don’t know what the dealership charges or a repair shop but you may be better off having them do it. Filter was an exact fit just a PITA to do.

These filters make a marked difference in the air quality. There is also a reduced amount of dust.
