Overall this is a great product and I love that I bought it. I wanted to give it a 4.5 vs 5 starts just because I think the directions on using could be a bit better. I have a rural unmanicured yard and this can handle it. I had a bit of an issue mapping which is why I think the user manual/directions on how to use the app could be better. I also live in a rural area and do not know if that affected the satellite. Once it lost the signal and I did call customer service for help and they were great. I tend to mow 2-3 times per week because if I don't little trumpet vines pop up from a nearby plant. It does have to go back to recharge throughout the mowing; but. it does get the job done. I can't share a video because I'm having trouble opening it once I save it so I'm not sure it will work if I attach it. I am able to add some still photos showing mowed vs un-mowed areas. I definitely have and will continue to recommend this product because it saves me so much time and my lawn looks better than ever. I did put some small plastic fences around some of my plants but it's not necessary. It sees the trees and goes around them. I did it around the plants because of mulch/soft areas.

This thing won’t even mow 1400 square ft patch without needing to recharge, constantly gets stuck on grass and you have to go outside and move it manually. Will skip spots in the yard. This might work on Florida grass or something similar but it won’t work thicker grass. 1400 sqft area and the thing returns with less than 20% or has to charge again. I’ve had robotic vacuums for several years but had been hesitant on the mower side. Vacuums are easy because they have walls to bounce into and flat surfaces, and the price has come down a ton. Mowers on the other hand have hills, divots, sunshine and clouds, rain, a ton of boundary types etc. I had zero interest in burying boundary wires, but with RTK+cameras and lidar and the price coming down substantially, they’re finally within a normal price range for the average customer. So far I’ve been very pleased with ours. Getting it set up was really easy just download the app, plug it in and mount the RTK antenna (the cord is super long, we ended up putting it on the garage since we have a lot of trees). I was worried about our tree density but the spot above the garage we got 30 satellites. Navigation was a breeze just let it auto map and it did a great job picking up various borders such as mulch, bushes, house, trampoline, swingset, retaining wall, etc. Zoning worked well and manually adding obstructions. Wasn’t sure how well it would cross the driveway but was able to set up a path in the app and it did great. We have about a 20 degree hill in the backyard and it’s done better than I thought it would even with a little wet grass in the morning. I’m interested to see how well the blades hold up and what that’s like to change but so far about 15 hours in they still seem razor sharp despite running over a few tree branches. All in all I’m so glad we got this and the time I’m getting back with my family not doing yard work. A little week trimming around some trees and that’s about it now.

I purchased the ECOVACS Goat O1000 hoping it would help me stay consistent mowing my lawn. I don’t have a huge yard—just a normal city lawn—but my schedule makes it hard to keep up. While it has great potential, the reality is that for the price I paid, this mower just isn’t ready for prime time. ⸻ ⚙️ Setup & First Impressions Initial setup requires you to walk the mower around your entire yard to map it. That part is fine the first time, but the real frustration starts when you need to adjust or update the map: • Any change means you must re-create the map from scratch. • Walking behind it to remap every time something goes wrong gets old fast. ⸻ 💡 Daily Use & Issues The biggest issue is inconsistency: • It gets stuck often—sometimes on obstacles, other times for no clear reason. • Even when you clear the obstacle, the software makes you start over with mapping. • The path can drift 2–3 feet off, which in a small front yard is a major safety concern. I constantly worried it would roll into the street. When it does work, it mows fine and sticks to the schedule. But that’s maybe 50% of the time. For example, I went out of town for two weeks: • First mow went great. • By the third scheduled mow, it got stuck and didn’t finish. • I came home to an unmowed lawn. ⸻ 📷 Object Detection & Camera The camera is supposed to recognize obstacles, but in practice: • It often runs straight into things it should see. • Sometimes it claims to be stuck when there’s nothing in the way. This happened enough that I spent more time watching and rescuing it than it would take to mow manually. ⸻ ✅ Pros • When it works, the mow is clean and even. • Scheduling feature is convenient. • Potential is there for wide-open, obstacle-free lawns. ❌ Cons • Mapping must be recreated every time. • Drifts off mapped paths by several feet. • Gets stuck frequently, even in clear areas. • Object detection doesn’t work reliably. • Not safe to run unsupervised in small yards near roads. • Far too expensive for the hassle. ⸻ 🎯 Who This Might Be For If you have a very large, perfectly flat yard with no obstacles at all, and you can install the antenna in a fully open sky, this might work better. But for a normal city lawn with trees, beds, or edges, I would not recommend it. ⸻ Bottom Line: I really wanted to love this mower. Unfortunately, it’s been a frustrating experience, and I wouldn’t buy it again. The idea is great, but the software and navigation just aren’t reliable enough yet to justify the cost.

I bought this as summers get quite hot and miserable to mow the lawn. The Goat mows the lawn for me, but really only gets around 1/8th of my 1/3 acre lawn at a time before needing to recharge for an hour. I cut the map into sections roughly the same size as the battery, so it mostly gets the entire "area" without needing a re-charge. It's nearly silent, and can be set to a faster, more reasonable speed in the app. It does not wish to mow over weeds that have grown larger than around 5 inches and will actively avoid them. If your lawn has lots of sand or low spots in dirt, you'll likely have to 'rescue' it routinely, or mark those spots as avoid zones and accept the Goat can't mow that area. The avoid zone functionality is cool, except that you HAVE TO DRIVE the mower THROUGH the do not enter zone to establish it... This seems extremely counter-intuitive if I don't want it going through that area.... My Goat recently appears to have shifted it's map location and will now need to be remapped to function again. All in all, I'd recommend this mower, but only if you are willing to put up with the minor inconveniences it causes in trade for not mowing your own lawn. Oh, and you still need to run the edger / weed whacker as it has a hard time near fences or walls.

UPDATE: Ecovacs support reached out to ask me about my experience and sent a replacement. But they sent the new LIDAR model with a trimmer. Its a completely different experience. No RTK fiddling, it charges a lot faster, the screen on the mower is a lot better. Its what I was hoping a robot mower experience would be like. Turn off my braun and have the robot do the work well and reliably. The trimmer is a nice addition and while it doesn't get everything, I only have touch up work every couple of weeks. The map and software are even improved so I can tell it where to hug the fence or strictly follow the mapping. I do wish I could move the base without having to remap. I have a large yard wired yard next to an undeveloped creek. It's rocky and slanted and it's not quick for me to carefully map manually, but it's a small price to pay for skipping the Texas summer heat. I started looking for other robot mowers before ecovacs support reached me and I would have to spend at least twice as much to get this same level of features and mowing quality as the new LIDAR mower. I honestly didn't expect much after my poor experience, but I was surprised and grateful the support team reached out. Nice to see a big company that actually cares about their customers. ------- Poorly engineered and supported. Owned it for a year and it constantly stops, demanding a pin, I cycle the power, hard reset it and still have the same problems over an over again. You can't replace the disk which loses screws fast and strips the holes. So now you're losing screws and blades even faster. Don't waste your money. I'll never buy another ecovacs product again.

First of all, I love this thing, was one of the best purchases I have made in some time. However, in less than 1 month the top has buckled and deformed which I assume will hinder the waterproof nature rendering worthless. The Goat has hit no obstacles so I assume this from direct sun heat? Not acceptable. Curious how Ecovacs or Amazon make this right.

I purchased the ECOVACS GOAT O1000 RTK Robot Lawn Mower on March 23 and have been using it for a little over two months now. Overall, my experience has been mostly positive, especially when it comes to setup and usability—but there’s an important downside buyers should know about. Setup & Installation: Setup was surprisingly simple. I chose a location for the charging/base station and secured it to the ground with the included anchor screws. I then attached the RTK pole, placed it in the ground, and ran the cables back to the charging station. After connecting the power adapter, I placed the mower on the charger and let it fully charge. Once powered on, I followed the prompts to set a secure PIN and then proceeded with mapping. Because my yard isn’t fully fenced, I chose to manually map it, which worked very well. After mapping, I used the app to divide my lawn into zones—this is one of the best features. It allows me to schedule different sections at different times instead of trying to mow everything at once. Performance & Features: The mower itself works well and the zoning/scheduling system is excellent. It’s convenient, efficient, and does exactly what I expected during normal operation. Major Downside – Parts Availability: Unfortunately, this is where things take a turn. I made a mistake and didn’t route the power adapter cord far enough out of reach, and the mower ended up slicing through it in multiple places. Completely my fault. However, when I contacted customer support to order a replacement, I was shocked to learn that replacement parts are extremely limited. The only readily available parts seem to be blades, some longer cables, and a standalone power adapter for the RTK (not the full charging system connection I needed). I expected to find replacements for key components like: • Power adapter (full charging station version) • Charging station • Wheels • Battery But none of these appear to be available through normal channels. My only options were to: • Buy a used part from eBay (and even that was coming from overseas), or • Attempt a DIY repair by splicing the damaged adapter with a watertight connector to an adapter that has the same power output ratings. That’s a major concern for a product in this price range. Final Thoughts: This is a capable and easy-to-use robot mower with great zoning features and straightforward setup. However, the lack of parts availability is a serious drawback. If something breaks—even something simple—you may have a hard time fixing it. Recommendation: If you decide to purchase this mower, take extra care during installation—especially with cable routing—because replacement parts are very difficult to find. Rating: 3/5 stars Good performance and features, but long-term ownership concerns due to limited support and parts.
