FREE SOLDIER Waterproof Camping Tarp Shelter Awning

I bought the Free Soldier tarp to keep in my car in case of emergency. I’m not sure what kind of emergency I was anticipating, but I had a tarp! I have never used one to do anything but cover patio furniture for winter, but I had a tarp! I threw it in my car and never even opened it for almost a year and a half, but I had a tarp!Since buying the tarp, I’ve discovered a passion for tent camping. In watching camping videos, many people use this type of tarp for all kinds of things. Until this morning, I didn’t have a need and it continued to live in my car undisturbed. Today , I experienced my first campsite with no tree cover, and the sun was brutal! All of a sudden, I remembered the Free Soldier tarp in my car.I decided to make a sun shelter with the tarp. I had never made one, but how hard can it be? Not difficult at all since I had the right equipment with me. I grabbed the tarp, cordage, stakes, and expandable poles and created sun relief! This tarp is amazing!Part of my reason for buying this tarp was the price. It seemed reasonable at the time of purchase. Now that I’ve used it, I know the price is reasonable! The material is high quality and durable. It feels like it will last me for a long time (and I’ll be using it way more often now!). The stitching is good, seams are taped, and there are lots of tie out points and grommets around the edges and down the centerline. They all seem like they’ll absorb some abuse. Today I’m having gusts of about 20 MPH, and the tarp is handling every one of them. The size is also good for what I needed it for. I’m camping alone this weekend, and there’s room for my chair and table with room to spare. This would definitely work on those rare occasions when my wife comes along! The material of the tarp is thin, but it’s plenty thick for what I need it to do. It’s also versatile. This setup I did would also work for rain protection, an emergency shelter, or as a tent footprint in a pinch. I haven’t tested it in the rain yet, but I see no reason to believe that it won’t shed water as advertised. I also love the green color of the tarp. I don’t typically color coordinate my campsites, but this tarp looks like it belongs in the woods and compliments my other gear nicely!I’m thrilled with the Free Soldier tarp and wish I hadn’t waited so long to use it. I highly recommend this!!!

This waterproof portable tarp is easy to set up and works great for sun protection. It definitely is multifunctional and handles well in the wind. The thickness is just right and it is holding up very well. I have bought two and will buy more. Thank you.

Did great for camping!!! Used it in the jungles of Okinawa Japan and the Forests of California. Its light weight and pretty easy to pack. The stakes are of decent quality as well.Cons: doesnt do well with major downpours. Also doesnt fold up as easy into the bag (its very possible just takes more effort).

These are very durable tarps for the price. I've had one set up all summer to cover my hammocking area and it has been flawless. Camo colors have not faded one bit and it has kept the area dry as a bone through many heavy downpours. Material is tough as nails and I am confident this thing will be around for a very long time. Due to weight it's not designed for lightweight backpacking for sure but if you want a bulletproof tarp for various situations you won't find anything better for the money. So many colors to choose from as well. Really impressed with this product.

I'm very happy with this. I bought it right before a campout and it rained a lot. I was able to string it up really well among three trees and a random tree branch. I didn't rely on the included spikes so I can't speak for those. But it is really lightweight it seems really durable and it folds up reasonably small.There are lots of points to attach ropes so that makes it especially easy to work with.Recommended

This is one of the best camping gear purchases I’ve ever made. Mine is the perfect size and the color is great for the woods. Light weight and excellent for building a fire in rainy weather. The price is right!

デイキャンプでひとまず使ってみました。釣り輪の補強が、あまり強くない事は、レビューで知っていたので、あまりストレスがかからないように、別ロープを張って、そこに吊り下げる形にしました。ループはたくさんついているので、いろいろトランスフォームして遊べます。この日も、前半は日除け的に使い、午後から雨がぱらついてきたので、普通に三角屋根にして運用しました。　生地はそこそこ厚めで、畳むと、そこそこずっしりです。　おまけの細引きとペグが4つ付いてきますが、自分で中央メインループに4ミリ細引き、端部各所に3ミリ細引きを自在金具とともに、長めに取り付けてます。　ヒモだらけになっても、袋に綺麗に収まるよう、袋がゆとりを持って作られているのであんしんです。

結構風の強い川の近くでテントを貼りました。ポールは付属されてないので、トレッキングポールで代用しました。付属のペグで固定し、風もある程度通るように張ってみました。遮光性が十分とは言えませんが何もないより良い感じです。風が通ると涼しいく、快適に過ごせました。初の徒歩キャンで使用し、徒歩キャンには活躍しそうです

Good tarp, worked well as a shelter and a tent footprint. Took it camping and having used tarps before for both, I think it functioned well. I like the weight of it: light. The central grommets were really what I was looking for and they held well under wind and rain. Would buy it again.Only dislike is the hunting orange outline, but that's not a make or break for me. This is a good outside, camping tarp that is well made and lightweight for its large size.Edit- used this tarp for protection on a trip when isolated on an island during a lightning storm. This thing held up to the winds and rain and the reinforced grommets and loops held up.I pack this for every trip and its been great.

風の強い中使用しましたが、かなり耐えてくれました！途中破れないか心配でしたが、全く心配無用でした。ちなみに付属のペグは使わずに30㎝のペグを使用しました。それくらい風が凄かったので、、、、。雨での使用はまだですが、なんとなく大丈夫そうな気がします(^^)追加で購入しようか検討中。なかなかいいタープだと思います。
