This is exactly what you need for security of your surroundings in your most vulnerable, sleeping. The build quality is exactly what you need. Plastic lightweight. The price for these units are what is to be expected unless you plan on doing the old string and cans perimeter. The loudness, a police siren is loud enough that you can't miss this in a camping environment. It's purpose is to warn. It's not to defend. So if you are expecting this to protect you ah you are sadly mistaken. You don't need some high technology to warn you of a possible threat at a camping site. Multiple ways to secure to a tree by zip tie or screw into the tree. Very simple and practical and bonus it's made in North Carolina. Worth the money and easy to deploy. Great alarm system, very easy to set up and multi use for camping, at your shop, for a pet barrier when training, lots of options. Priced very reasonable and shipping was on point. Reliable for all the right reasons

The item works as advertised. I would likely purchase it again, but there are things to consider. I bought it for bear security. The 80 feet of cord created a smaller area of security than I would have preferred. The lite wheight of the string made it prone to tangling easily if one is not careful. The position of the arming button and charging port requires you to be able to remove it from where it is mounted. This keeps others from being able to shut it off without knowledge of the device, but it is inconvenient to the user. Lastly, setup and take down of the string is a bit of a drag as you must manually release and later wind up the string. Still it works and I will continue to use it. For the price it was worth buying.

trip wire string does not dispense as described , even replacement does not work. Very poor

If you like to camp in the back country with the wildlife then you need this. It takes up very little space in your backpack. Lightweight, easy to setup, good quality and loud enough to potentially scare off any critters that may be lurking around your tent. If you’re looking to use it as a security measure around your house then I would say that it could be a little louder but it would probably still make someone leave in a hurry. Recharging is quick and easy.

Very loud but only one alarm sound is available instead of the two advertised, if there is a way to switch them it is not in the instructions. My main complaint is that there is no way to arm, disarm, or recharge it without unscrewing it from whatever you have attached it to, as you can imagine this would be a serious issue in the field. Ignoring the design and false advertising issues though it does work, very well. It is very loud and simple to use (in theory, see above). The size is just about right, but as I said the controls need to be moved to either the side or the front. Decent value for the money but again, you get what you pay for in terms of the clunky control placement.

Very plasticity and the cable didn't unwind easily. Also having to pay almost half in return fees is unacceptable as well.
