CFX Electric Cooler | Portable Freezer | CFX5 & CFX3 Series | AC/DC or Solar Powered

Keeps everything very cold even on hot summers days on the boat. A little heavy, forgetting on the boat, but still lighter than my yeti cooler.

Same issue as at least one other 1-star review here: DOA. Dead On Arrival. Tried it with multiple DC and AC power sources, with the same result each time: once plugged into the power source, the Dometic logo briefly appears on the cooler's screen (as if it's trying to "boot up") and then goes away, followed by...nothing. Zip. No response from start button (or any other button). Packaging was banged-up a little (one of the Styrofoam corner pieces was broken), but nothing too terrible. Particularly disappointing as we have a 4-year old Dometic fridge in our RV that has been a work-horse with no problems at all -- was expecting the same quality.

Very light weight. Worked perfect with my tilt slide. It has a nice basket which makes it easy to load and unload. Uses very little power and I could not even hear it while driving. Took maybe 15 minutes to get down to 35 degrees. Came very well packaged and the directions were easy. I would buy again.

This thing is quiet compared to all my other 12v fridge/freezers. I’ve hade Bodega, Setpower, Iceco, Engel fridges and I’m not too impressed with this CFX5 35. While it is very lightweight, it consumed my entire 880wh Jackery in less than 24hrs at -8 setting in June Texas heat. My Iceco VL 60 dual zone(insulated cover) ran the same amount of time off that Jackery at 0 and 36 degree settings. This is almost double the size. Hopefully the cover I ordered will help with its efficiency.

Was ideal for me. A little bigger than planned but it's still easy to carry and move around for one person. Love the fact that I can take the basket out and carry out everything separately. Its cooling ability is great but if its an extra hot day(95 F) I suggest you bring the temperature cooler than normal so when it's open it maintains cool (used for a party and had people open it constantly). Its was also on sale when I purchased this so the value for money was perfect. It is well build and sturdy... I do suggest if you are going to the desert or really hot places you invest in the insulation cover. I do have a dual zone portable fridge for longer trips or if i take the whole family but this size is perfect for maybe 2-3 days worth of food for 1/2 people.

DOMETIC quality control did not catch that the lid latch tongue does not engage when the lid is closed. The gasket seal does not have any pressure other than the lid weight and if the unit were to turn over freezer contents would spill out. Has anyone else seen this problem? Is there a lid latch adjustment to fix this? At this unit’s price point this customer is pretty disappointed. Hopefully the freezer will perform as described. Only time will tell.

It chills to refrigerator or freezer temperatures quickly. The build quality is as good as it gets. The blue tooth connectivity is pretty handy for checking temperature and normal operations while it’s buried in the back with luggage. It does have one negative, in that the user interface is not intuitive. It has a user interface control lock to prevent accidental bumping. I think it’s not intuitive that controls are locked and how to get out of it. The default printed manual is pictograms which is barely helpful. Their website has an english version. I do think this one attribute contributes to the frustrated reviews that claim dead-on-arrival. I suspect they didn’t figure out how to turn it on, which is certainly understandable.

I’ve only used it as a Refrigerator so far but it’s been Awesome!!

Probándola en casa para este verano. Enfría super rápido, no suena, un pelín grande, pero....adelante. Cabe de todo (cerveza y agua principalmente). La meteré en el maletero del coche, y luego en casa de jardín. De momento, aqui en casa, mientras la pruebo, todo perfecto.

Wir verwenden den Kompressor in unserem Campingbus, er arbeitet äußerst zuverlässig und verbraucht wenig Strom. 2-3 Tage an der Autobatterie (Zweitbatterie) sind überhaupt kein Problem. Ausreichend Platz für eine 4-köpfige Familie und dennoch nicht zu groß für den Bus. Die Geräuschentwicklung ist sehr moderat, man hört kaum, wenn der Kompressor anspringt.
