Is the metonin synthetic or animal based?

I am a retired research chemist. invariably, melatonin is derived from monoclonal yeast bread to produce large amounts of melatonin. Whereas typical yeast will be typically low in melatonin, taking standard yeast is not the answer. The monoclonal yeast are designed to produce large amounts of melatonin, which is then extracted via a digestion in caustic, then liquid/liquid extracted. The chemical synthetic route to melatonin is costly and atypical of any product. Whereas I don't actually know the disposition of this particular product, it is unlikely synthetic.

I've read that natural melatonin is normally harvested from animal glands. Is your product made with synthetic melatonin or the animal gland kind?

How long before i can expect results? Meds sometimes take weeks.

The Melatonin time release helped me the first night. I have bad discs in neck. I would wake up in night and took long time to return to sleep. My surgeon suggested melatonin time release 10 mi. I am having best sleep in years. Better than codeine for me. Has to be slow or time release. I take on about hour before bedtime.
