Great Value Organizer That Clears Up the Mess
The Bottom Line: If you want to organize your yard tools on a budget, this rack is a fantastic value—just don't expect to actually fit 30 large tools on it. Full Review: I bought this Stalwart Garden Tool Organizer to finally tackle the mess in my garage. Here is my honest take on how it performs: 1. Build Quality: Flimsy at First, Solid When Assembled I have to be honest—when I first pulled the plastic pieces out of the box, they felt a little flimsy. I was worried it wouldn't hold up. However, once I actually put it together, the structure tightened up significantly. Performance: After assembly, it seemed to handle everything I put in it just fine. It sits very firmly on the floor and doesn't tip over, even with heavier long-handled tools. 2. Realistic Capacity The "30 Tool" Claim: The description says it holds 30 tools, but I don't think you can really get that many in there. The handles fit the slots, but the heads of the rakes and shovels crowd each other out at the top. Still Plenty of Room: That said, this wasn't a problem for me. It still holds a significant amount of gear and did exactly what I wanted it to do—get my stuff organized and off the floor. 3. Unbeatable Value Price: Just like other items I've bought recently, the price on this was excellent. I looked at similar organizers at the local home improvement stores, and they were significantly more expensive for basically the same setup. Verdict: Don't let the lightweight feel of the unboxing fool you—once assembled, this is a solid rack. It sits firmly on the floor, solves the clutter problem, and is a great value. Highly recommended.

A big step up from a carbdoard box, so I'm happy!
I was actually looking for a heavy metal garden cart/trolley, but it seems no one makes them any more - or I don't know where to look. All I could find were instructions on how to build my own - that required welding equipment - and plastic, some of them very dear indeed, so after reading the reviews I got two of these, one for "in" brooms mops etc and one for "out" rakes, shovels, trimmers and so on. These were reasonably priced and an appropriate size and tall enough to actually hold up long handles, many of the other racks were way too short to actually keep the handles upright. These will serve until I can find my metal ones, or I take up welding (grin). They are as expected, plastic and therefore due to the nature of plastic, they are flimsy and over time the plastic will become brittle and will warp and shatter. That said, they will serve their purpose - to tidy up the broom closet and the tool shed, and keep the long handle items corralled and more orderly. The instructions are minimal, and it is not clear which is "front" and "back" unless you study the Amazon picture, or until you get it assembled (wrong in my case) but it comes back apart fairly easily (is that a good thing?). The "front" is the tray side of the bottom and the u-shaped holders on the top. This allows you to store heavy, thick handled items with the business end down in the u-shaped holders- shovels, garden rakes, street brooms, dust mops... As the heavy ends of these items are down and sitting in the tray. it keeps the holder stable and prevents tipping. This rack is not heavy enough or sturdy enough to store heavy shovels and rakes with the business end up, it will tip and fall and would be very dangerous! My "push firmly" wasn't sufficient to get the supports to "snap" in place (per instructions), I found a rubber mallet helpful. I wouldn't use a regular hammer as this is after all plastic, and might break. It has wheels on one end and a grip on the other so you can lift up and roll it. This is not intended to be rolled around the yard, just making it easier to shift its location a bit. It has holes on the back side in both the top and bottom sections so that it can be bolted to a wall to make it more stable. It is clear that "40 tools" counts all your little hand tools - rose shears, clippers, feather dusters, gloves, and does not mean 40 shovels and brooms. There are 5 "large" u-shaped long handle holders, and 5 "small" o-shaped long handle holders for long handled dusters, light bulb changers, fan blade cleaners and the like, and 4 tiny round holes - my feather duster is in one of these. In my case my electric edger fits in one of the u-shaped holders but the grip sticks out and covers the next u-shape holder, so I only have 4 available, so look at your tools handles to figure out how many of your items this will actually hold. This is exactly what I thought I was getting, and it will work for now, but not forever, but it is much better than the cardboard wardrobe moving boxes I have been using, so I am very happy.

Works well, price is right.
Included before and after photos. This is a huge improvement to spaces that house shovels and brooms and such. We considered a small closet-like storage in this space, but it would have cost 7x what this item cost. It isn't super solid-definitely doesn't quite roll full of tools bc the legs would pop off if lifted, but it scoots fine, and holds all of this very well. It's easy to balance your tools, so there is no way it would fall over unless you put all tools in leaning to one direction, which would be silly. Mine came with 2 extra legs for some reason. They became a sword for my kids, haha. I did put electrical tape over the holes where the legs fit in (top and bottom) bc it is hollow and I am not trying to provide a home for East TX spiders. 😬

What are you looking to get out of this item?
I think that's the question that needs to be asked, as this is the classic type of item where folks who are looking to buy one are going to have a very large range of expectations. My expectations weren't high. I just need some kind of rack, one that doesn't mount to the wall, where I can store my large tools in a way that will save a little bit of space. Prior to buying the rack, all of my large tools were just kind of in the corner propped up against the wall or on a shelf adjacent to that corner. I would say that my tools were taking about 1/4 of my available storage space. The two benefits of this rack that I will definitely make use of are 1) my weedeater actually fits, though barely and 2) there is just enough space beside the rack to put my ladders. In other words, this unit really did save me space, and it makes it easier to access the tools because they are not stacked on top of each other. However, there are some legitimate concerns voiced by other reviewers. The plastic does not seem to be very durable. The plastic shelf and base seem to be kind of middle-of-the-road. It's very lightweight, but also about a 5 or a 6 on the durability scale. Those two parts will probably fare okay for the long haul as long as they aren't exposed to direct sunlight. The support poles, though, are a different matter altogether. I had concerns that they would be strong enough for me to set them into place during assembly. I was very careful and ended up using a mallet instead of putting my weight on it. The wheels are pointless. If you're looking to use this as a mobile tool rack, look elsewhere. I could see this being okay if you are wheeling around hand tools, but if there is any weight whatsoever on the rack, you'll be better off moving your tools one at a time. Dead serious. That's the one big tip I have for the manufacturer. Get rid of the wheels and knock a buck or two off the price. The organization of the slots could be better. This unit works great for holding my large tools. It currently holes a shovel, a rake, a thatcher, a sod plugger, a tamper, a weedeater, and a few other odds and ends. I have concerns about the weight of the tamper, but it does okay with these items. The items it doesn't hold well include things like garden shears, a lopper, a pruner, and the like. In other words, most hand tools are not well suited for this rack, and I was really hoping that this would help provide a solution for those tools that are just slightly too big for a tool box. This is going to meet my needs. It's in a closet, so there is no exposure to the sun. I intend to keep it stationary, and I was able to free up room in my closet to store other things. My review is based more on my expectations combined with what I feel most folks will use this for. Would I buy this again? Let's just say I'd shop around again first.

Much too small!
This rack is about half the size of what you would expect to hold yard tools, such as shovels, rakes, etc. It is only knee high, making it much too short to effectively hold long handled tools. It's a joke. Very disappointed.

OK so far but do not know what to expect.
I read the reviews, some are very unflattering. Bought it anyway with the expectation that I would have to provide reinforcement. It is not very stable material but is doing the job as intended. I have not reinforced it, yet, but likely will do so. It will hold many tools and is easy to use. My wife loves it or at least loves our tools being organized. I am glad that I did not spend the much bigger money to buy the big name brand. Likely would not be any better and would still need reinforcement. This item is not cheap but is still OK.

Must add braces to support any actual tools; too few holes
The rack is very poorly designed. The good news is the faults can be fixed with some added simple wood bracing. The bad news is that you really must put some work in to make use of this. But I knew this going in, from all the poor reviews. I figured I could simply add my own braces, and rather than make my own rack completely from scratch, this would save me quite a bit of time and material. This turned out to be the case. The rack goes together fairly easily. The first fix I would suggest is to glue the parts together using super glue in the sliding joints. If you lift up at all on the top green piece of the rack, the three-piece tubes tend to slide apart quite easily. Glue helps but will not fix the flimsiness. The biggest problem by far of this rack is there is no triangulation between top and bottom horizontal pieces. Put some top heavy tools in like regular old shovels and rakes and it twists and flexes and sags over like rubber. I added a back diagonal piece of 3/4 x 1.5 inch wood. Drilling some pilot holes first, then two drywall screws into the corners through the tube joints. Then two more similar diagonal wood braces on the sides. This makes it able to stand free of the wall without wobbling and sagging with tools in it. The rack as it comes, has holes in the back panels that seem to be for screwing it to the wall. Mounting it to a wall would indeed also fix the sagging problem, but this rack has wheels and is meant to be moved around. And mounting it to the wall means the back row of tools would be very crowded against the wall and hard to fit tools in or take out. Third problem is there are only holes for 10 long handle implements. The middle slots are very narrow and no garden tool I have of any kind fits into these gaps. I took a roto-saw and hogged out a number of these middle slots into actual round holes and put five more tools in there. Next, the vertical black plastic tubes themselves would be great holes to store tool handles in, but the holes in the green top are too small. I hogged these out as well to fit in some 1" dia. tools. As it comes you could get 10 tools in the rack; with these mods you can fit at least 19, and have the structural stiffness to actually not fall over. I still wouldn't be wheeling it around, that feature to me is pretty useless. It seems apparent that the makers and designers of this rack must have never actually used it or tested it very thoroughly at all, with real tools that people actually have in their garden sheds and garages.
