VILTROX 28mm F4.5 Ultra-Thin Pancake Lens X-Mount Auto Focus 28 mm f/4.5 XF Chips-Size APS-C Wide Angle Lens for Fuji

Wow I’m glad I bought this lens. I read and watched others reviews and took a chance. Its a well built, sharp lens with great AF. Works great for photo & video. I think I’m going to sell my Fuji 23mm lens. My background is that I’ve had a photography company for 17 years, I shoot with Nikon full frame cameras & lenses. For travel & every day I’d much rather shoot w/ my Fuji mirrorless system. They are, fun, lightweight and I love the film look straight out of the camera. I have shot with really good Nikon and Fuji glass and I can say that this lens a very good value. I’ve paid more than double for lenses that arent half as good. The only negatives as others have mentioned are the minimum focus distance could be better (like 15.7”) & it has some vignetting at larger apertures. Both of those issues are easy to deal with. I actually like vignetting sometimes. You can also remove it easily in Photoshop or LR. The positives are sharp photos, great out of focus areas, subject separation, quick & accurate autofocus for photo and video, quiet AF, great build quality and excellent low light performance. The 23mm (35mm equiv) is a great focal length too. It’s great for landscapes, walk around/ travel, wide portraits , cars, music performance, video, vlogging and more. For around $300 its a steal! I’m probably going to now buy the Viltrox 85mm 1.8 which has received many good reviews also. Well done Viltrox. Finally a 3rd party stepping up for Fuji! I can’t wait to see what else they come out with.

I added the Fujifilm X-T3 to my Arsenal almost a year ago so that l would have a light weight camera for personal captures. Since I wasn't ready to spend a lot of money on lenses and other peripherals I looked for a third party lens alternative. When I heard about Viltrox lenses I decided to give them a chance. So far I own the 23, 33, 56 and 85mm lenses for Fujifilm (this alone should tell you how much I like these lenses). They are priced just right for my budget and I have found their construction and image quality are great too. Of the four, the 23 and 33 are the sharpest followed by the 56 then 85mm. For this review, the 33 is sharp well made and the images I am getting are on par with my other camera brands. I like the 33mm because it is light and is in the 50mm focal range so I can use it for just about anything from portraiture to street photography. I haven't noticed any loud noises when focusing so it might perform just as well in video (not tested). The apeture ring does not lock so there is a possibility that your fingers may change the apeture position while in use. The Bokeh is busy sometimes swirly and not as smooth as other lenses I've used but still okay. If you have a fuji camera and are looking for a lower priced but capable lens alternative I recommend the Viltrox lens offerings.

I have another Viltrox lens and like it. However, it is a fairly large 28mm prime...and is too big to allow pocket carry with my Fuji X-A1. This lens fits the bill perfectly. The combination is most pocketable and the photos are still better than average for what it is. Recommended...especially for the price...

This alternative to the Fujifilm line of XF lenses has a lot going for it. The price , the build quality, and the autofocus are all good. After reading and watching a number of reviews about this lens it becomes obvious that, as with Fuji lenses, there are copy variations so I can only speak to the copy that I tested. The general size and feel of the lens is very pleasing and I must say that I was surprised at how well the "clickless" aperture ring worked. The firmness of the turn allowed the setting to stay put. I thought I might replace my 35mm f2 with this lens so I did a fairly scientific comparison. I found that though the Viltrox images at f1.4 were not bad and could potentially produce a very nice image but it was definitely not "tack" sharp in the center and softened toward the edges. From f2-f5.6 the center sharpened up and the overall image improved, but it never got as good as the Fujifilm f2 at the same settings, especially when it comes to contrast and overall rendering, my Fuji just looked better. I am certainly happy to see another manufacturer crack the Fuji autofocus nut, but for now I will be sticking with my much loved 35mm f2. One final note: For reference, this lens is almost exactly the same size as the Fujinon 18-55mm lens, but slightly lighter.

Okay, it may not be the best lens available, but considering its price and slim design, it’s definitely worth it. Personally, I love it because I can’t use my old Fuji camera anymore, and it allows me to shoot anything I want without overthinking it. It also produces good results. it often goes down for $79 and I think this is a must have.

Works perfectly on my fujifilm xt5, F1.7 is incredible. This lens delivers excellent background blur thanks to its wide aperture. It’s hard to find another lens with this level of quality at this price.

Fits ok, but the camera shutter doesn’t work correctly when it tries to auto focus. Have to change the settings to “shoot without lense” and then it functions ok.

Here I was, ready to pull the trigger on buying the Fuji 23 F2, when I noticed the Viltrox 23 F1.4. After doing my due diligence and researching different reviews, I thought, why not? If it didn't live up to the hype, I could always return it. Well, long story short, I'm keeping it! It's tack sharp, with great color rendition. Sure, there is a bit of chromatic aberration, and vignetting shot wide open, but I've had other, much more expensive lenses that had those same minor issues. The Bokeh isn't bad either. In fact, I bought this to pair with my Fuji F1.2 for portrait photos. It's good for so much more though. And the autofocus works flawlessly on my X-T2. The only thing that takes getting used to is the clickless aperture, it's easy to change it by accident. You just have to be mindful of your f-stop, and if you really just want to shoot it wide open to get the maximum bokeh, a piece of gaffers tape will keep the aperture ring where you want it. Did I mention it's all metal construction, Including the lens hood? If you desire the Fuji 23 F1.4, but can't afford the price, give the Viltrox 23 F1.4 a try. I'll bet you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Ottima ottica, usata con Fujifilm xh2s, la lunghezza focale su apsc è di circa 20mm , utile per grandangoli un po’ più spinti . Unico appunto sulla risultante del colore, le foto tendenzialmente vanno più verso il magenta, rispetto alle ottiche fuji

Ware super, Qualität ok. Konnte es leider nicht Ausprobieren da es nicht auf meine Kamera Canon EOS M50 gepasst hat.

Très content de cet objectif. Je l'ai utilisé non stop pendant 3 mois, surtout pour le prix
