For a 48 set they had a nice range. Of course the toned down colors are what are omitted but that doesn't take away from their beauty. I did several drawings with just this set before integrating them with my other pastels. I am confident that the quality and lightfastness is good. Nice set

Good quality. These are small, so a great option if you want color variety on a budget. If the feel of these used to freak you out but you’re thinking you’re an adult now and surely over it… trust me, just get oil pastels instead. These are great for what they are, but they still are… what they are.

I'm a pastel junkie and a professional artist. I didn't know that they would be so tiny, but the price is reasonable. They perform like hard pastels or chalk pastels. The 48 colors are bright and are great for beginners. I already own expensive pastel sets and I needed a less expensive brand to practice rough sketches or linear work. I would've love to see them longer like traditional pastels, but Faber Castell's Soft Pastel Set is fun to experiment with!

Very pleased with these as well as other Faber-Castel products. I ordered a different brand of pastel pencils that had high ratings, but they are not the same quality of Faber-Castel, especially if you are wanting to produce quality pieces.

I was thinking these were more along the line of half-sticks but they actually are mini, really. Other than that, I've only scribbled on a page with them so far, but the colors are vibrant and beautiful. I was really checking for that coating another reviewer described and there are clearly soft pastels--they go on smooth. One did break the minute I put it to the page, but I look at this as me testing the product prior to ordering a larger set and let's face it, I'm gonna break more before the week is out. I've attached pics of the scribbles, but also comparison pics of a regular chalk pastel, a half-stick and one of these.

Ich hatte früher gerne mit Pastellkreiden gemalt und war immer mit der teuren von Schmincke versorgt. Nach einer langen Pause hatte ich keine Kreiden mehr und stieß bei der Suche auf diese hier. Der extrem günstige Preis für die enorme Farbauswahl machten mit skeptisch, die Produktrezensionen überzeugten mich, es zumindest zu versuchen. Und das hat sich gelohnt. Qualitativ sind die Kreiden echt gut. Sie sind klein, aber nicht unhandlich. Die Farbauswahl hätte ich persönlich anders gestaltet, aber diese hier ist absolut ausreichend und zufriedenstellend. Sehr schön ist auch, dass weiß und schwarz jeweils doppelt vorhanden sind. Und ich meine, oder bilde mir wenigstens ein, dass die Farben sehr ergiebig sind. Beizeiten werde ich wohl noch ein Bild hochladen. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob es an der Kreide oder dem Fixierspray liegt: Beim Fixieren sind die Farben ganz enorm abgedunkelt. Das war sehr ärgerlich, ich hatte weiß auf schwarzem Papier gemalt und musste die Kontraste alle neu betonen. Das wiederum habe ich dann aber mit Haarlack fixiert und das ging sehr gut.

Klein maar echt zeer fijn! Ik heb de set gekocht om wat meer te experimenteren met het vullen van grotere vlakken in tekeningen en heb aan de hand van de andere recensies gekozen voor deze 48 set. Wat een prachtige pigmenten, als miniset in combinatie met deze prijs kan ik me niet voorstellen dat dit te verslaan is. Dit wordt in de toekomst zeer zeker een herhaal aankoop. Voor de prijs hoef je niet na te denken; koop deze set.

I bought the 48 colour set of these Soft Pastel. This german brand is good for beginners and bit hard when compared to other soft pastel sticks. Better for subtle light sharp stocks and colouring the soft background effects (use sofft tools to smudge the colour). Works great with Pastelmat by Claitefontaine paper medium. Blendability of two or more colour works great on Pastelmat. Ease of use when comes to rough art and landscape for beginners. They are kind of chalky and you can break it for use. It's not very durable but it's up to you how you use it. Better use a surgical rubber gloves when using it and use acid free tracing paper for smudge free experience.

Het pastel krijt is van zeer goede kwaliteit. Alle kleuren zijn voldoende aanwezig. Ik mis echter neutrale kleuren. Dat wordt uitkijken naar zo'n bijkomend assortiment.
