Madelaine Chocolate Company Chocolate Advent Calendar - 8Oz 2 Pack

Beautiful illustrations. The little windows were easy to open, even for young children. Each chocolate was an excellent size, shape, and flavor. Very fresh. These are the treasures I remember from my childhood, and it is very rewarding to help my grandchildren make some wonderful Christmas memories. Highly recommend (as in I will be buying these year after year).

I picked this up after a year-or-to have dealing with the cheaper chocolate calendars and was more than satisfied. The chocolate was nicely formed and had a decent quality...so much better than those basic ones. The printing on the calendar was well done and the doors were easy enough to open. I'll be keeping these in mind for next year's season

There is a lot to love here. We hung them with fabric/plastic picture hangers so they are waiting on the wall every morning. My mother was German, and Advent Calenders were a beloved tradition of our childhood. The chocolates are generous, wrapped in foil like a gift under the tree. Tasty and fresh, each day increases the anticipation of the next. The poetic offering on the calendar door will bring back nostalgia to the loving adult who reads to their awaiting child, while the artwork of shopfronts full of toys appeals to both young and old. There just may be something for everyone.

The chocolate is good, But four stars, because there's nothing to look forward to each day as far as variety and surprise. Every chocolate is exactly the same. Just a small cube of milk chocolate. I ended up pulling out the tray and just taking one each day without searching for the correct corresponding day. What's the point when each one is exactly the same as the next?! The little poems on the inside of each door are cute, though.

I remember having advents calendars as a kid and wanted to introduce my own kids to the tradition now. This one is beautiful! I love the little house design (it's actually a toy shop, which is even cuter). And I love that the chocolates are all wrapped like presents. Nice extra touch. The numbers on the flaps are hard to see, which initially I thought was a drawback, but in retrospect, it's actually better this way. My 2- and 4-year old kids have fun looking for the correct number every day, and since they're a bit hard to make out, it gives them a challenge so it's more interesting than plainly visible numbers. They feel so proud when they finally find the number! So I'm actually glad they're hard to see, whether that was intentional or not. I also like that this is a pack of 2. I have 2 kids and of course they have to have two of the same, of whatever I buy, so this was a good deal. My only complaint is on packing - the calendars were shipped in an envelope, instead of a box, and came smashed. Crushable items should not be shipped in envelopes.
