Sauder Cottage Road Armoire, Soft White finish

This is a great looking armoire! It is sturdy and a quality wood product. The clothing rod is strong and it holds several women’s suits. The drawer is spacious and strong. The top looks like wood and the rest is white. It’s shorter than I expected but it holds a fair amount of clothing. The inside cabinet and drawers smell good. It is very heavy so a very strong person or two people are needed to carry it. Amazon Home Service I paid $89 for assembly and the two guys did a great job assembling the armoire. My only issue was that one of the Amazon Home Service assembly guys spent lots of time complaining and lecturing me about how I was supposed to move the disassembled armoire. He was refusing to move it but the other guy decided to take pieces out of the box and move them which was easier than moving the whole box. Even after the pieces were moved this guy insisted on telling me I should’ve read the assembly details. He said I should’ve paid extra for them to move the armoire to another room. I am a woman with extensive back, hip, shoulder and wrist problems. I paid for two strong men to assemble my armoire and it seemed reasonable to expect they would move the heavy armoire. I do not recommend paying for the Amazon Home Service assembly if you are incapable of moving a very heavy item. After they left I read the details and I will avoid ordering heavy items from Amazon that require assembly. I do not want another complaining assembly guy in my house and I cannot move heavy items. It would be easier to pay a few bucks extra for a furniture store to deliver an assembled furniture item and put it exactly where I want it without complaint! I highly recommend this armoire!

Decent piece of furniture - time consuming to assemble but well worth it although one little mishap and you've ruined a board! It's being used as extra storage, so it doesn't have to be perfect but it's a little disappointing to have one piece that isn't secured properly - directions should recommend 2 people to assemble armoire because if it twists at all, you've ruined a board.

While the product is not super high quality (you get what you pay for), it is well designed and the instructions were the best I've ever seen with a furniture purchase. Not only do they outline every step, they also include specific instructions to ensure everything is assembled correctly. All parts were labeled and construction was very easy thanks to the instructions.

Looks great in the bedroom. Very sturdy. I did not need help to assemble, I did it by myself.

Several pieces had dents and marks when I pulled them from the boxes. Once I put the unit together the doors did not line up. Following the instructions, I tried to adjust but it still did not work. I assembled the drawer and it practically fell apart when I slid it in the slot. The front came off completely and now cannot be used at all. I’ve had IKEA furniture that was better than this. The piece looks nice but it is not worth it considering many of the pieces arrived damaged, doors are uneven, and the fact that the drawers do not work. Complete waste of money.

So far I really like it! Shipped was fast and pretty cheap for such a big piece of furniture. I will say it takes a while to build but overall it’s good quality and is a pretty color

Shipping took forever - it was not a fast delivery, and due to travel we chose an even later scheduled date, just to be safe. The day we arranged to be home for delivery, they called to reschedule and it was delayed for several more days. The furniture itself is fine. It's fair quality for the price, and pretty sturdy (once assembled) - but it took about three hours to put it together (with two people). You definitely cannot do it alone! It is DEFINITELY NOT "real wood" - it is pressed wood, coated with textured plastic / melamine. It does not look like real wood up close - but the finish seems pretty durable, and the texture makes it look fancier than cheaper styles (from a few feet away, it might be passable as wood). Lastly, the backing is not solid - it's a piece of flimsy cardboard, coated only on one side. If you want this furniture to stand away from a wall, you'll have to mount that backing inside-out (so when you open your cabinet, you'll see unfinished cardboard behind your clothes). We took a few extra minutes to coat the unfinished side with contact paper, so it wouldn't look so ghetto (added bonus, a tiny bit of structural stability!) before nailing it on the back. Overall, I'd say that the quality is comparable to the higher-end stuff from Ikea, and it's priced similarly. I probably would have opted for something different if I'd seen it assembled, in person - as Ikea has taller options, and for the same price/quality it would have better fit our needs. But now it's assembled, and we'll keep it - for the price it's good enough, and it looks decent.

The consistent issue with this brand is that the doors don’t level, close or stay properly. It’s ok, we need it, so we are keeping it, if you want to return it you’ll have to bring it yourself to the store. Assembly was ok, my husband did it and the doors were the issue. It looks nice/decent. One inside part came chipped so I wouldn’t recommend it.
