The crust I bought was so dry my lemon ice box cake could not be lifted out of the pan without breaking into many pieces. was it just old in the store

When you use ready crust graham crackers for this lemon box cake. I suggest you make the dessert two days prior before serving. The most important thing you can do is make sure your covering with plastic over the pie or use the Keebler's cover always while it's sits in the fridge before serving. This step will keep it from drying and your dessert moist. This can be frozen for about two months if you make ahead of time as well.

Not too sweet

Great for key lime pie base. Not too sweet and holds up well when slicing (I’ve found cheaper versions tend to disintegrate when serving this base doesn’t do that).

Too crumbly

Either keebler has changed their formula, or transport caused this crust to be very crumbly when filling and cutting. I couldn't even spread the filling without pulling up pieces of the crust. Made for a very messy and unattractive (but still delicious) pie. If you're serving company or taking to an event, I would recommend purchasing in person.
