49" long from where to where? I am almost 6'9" so length is important

The 49-inch measurement might not be correct. if the "stretch factor" is involved. The suspenders have the adjustable settings on the "arm" portions, but I cannot give a defined measurement for amount of stretch the arms can represent. There are other brands of suspenders that offer a larger size range.

Can they be washed if i wear under shirt?

I have washed mine. Did not seem to hurt them.
