I'm thinking to get one to use as a drinking vessel for my tortoise. How deep is it please?

Hi ya, it measures 18 mm. deep. Mine is obong not round not sure if this is the same.

The diameter is listed as 16" / 40cm, but is that measured across the slanted lip, or the actually usable flat surface inside the slanted lip?

Hi - the diameter edge to edge is 35.5cm - the usable surface is a tad smaller.
