Exactly What I Needed!
Easy to put together in a couple minutes. It rolls smoothly with and without weight and the wheels are very quiet as well. It is a little tall at the lowest setting (about 14.5 inches high from floor to bottom base of chair) compared to the original for my chair, but it is not an issue for me personally. It takes a little bit of effort to recline but that could be due to the new-ness of the product. I wish it was a little more cost effective, however, it is exactly what I needed and totally worth it so I donโt have to spend time struggling to find a new chair! It seems sturdy and is working well so far!

Excellent product, excellent value.
I am so impressed with this replacement unit. The star base comes in pieces and I was a bit leery of that, but it is heavy and solid, the screws and inserts that you use to put it together are heavy duty. The base plate fit perfectly on a three year old chair (be careful to measure the distances as this is 10" and 6" and there can be other sizes.). The one caveat is that the wheels are plastic and probably only decent up to 250 lbs. Anyone heavier s/b using inline skate type wheels anyway. and the ones from the old base interchanged in perfectly All in 20 mins and 5 of that was getting the old base off the chair seat. I was just trying to stave off buying another chair I might hate and am suprised and delighted with how simple and fast this was, and how well made and heavy duty. Money well spent.

Don't Toss That Broken Chair Out Just Yet!
The other day, my favorite desk chair, which I've had for years, broke and toppled over. Ok, time to spend $200+ for a new chair. As I inspected the damage, it was clear that the base and mechanism had failed. The chair otherwise is in nice condition, with no tears or breaks. If this is you, then look into Frassie for a new base and/or lift system. It is very easy to replace...even the most DIY challenged can do it...will save you money, and you'll keep your favorite chair. The only thing you need to check is the bolt spacing that holds the base to the chair. This is simple to do, as clear measurements are included in all of Frassie's Amazon ads. The most common seems to be 10"x6", but yours could be different, so check first. Highly recommended!

Not good. Poorly welded.
The bosses the casters mount into are welded at an angle. This causes the casters to point outward. They will not turn at all and just bind. I used the cylinder and the seat plate and threw out the 5 legged base.

Good
If you have chair that you like and want to keep using. Perfect to replace broken bottom part of wheels and base.
