The Survivor Wants to Die at the End

Amazing author!! I’ve read all his books since high school and thoroughly enjoy them. The book is emotionally grappling, amazing plot, and overall is beautifully written. Can’t wait to see what Adam has in store for us later!

For a young adult read, very well done. Unique read, waiting excitedly for the next book

I’ve been waiting and waiting for this book. The Survivor Wants to Die at the End is the third book in the Death Cast series, following They Both Die at the End (my all-time favorite in the series) and The First to Die at the End (which I also loved). I read them in publication order, and that’s how I always recommend reading the series...don't read in storyline order. This one had me locked in from the beginning. The pacing was great, the characters were strong (I love how Adam Silvera always brings back familiar names from earlier books), and emotionally, it pulled me in just like the first two. But then… the last three chapters. Something about the ending just didn’t work for me. It felt rushed, and without spoiling anything, there were a couple of things I wish had been expanded on earlier in the book to make that ending feel more believable. It didn’t ruin the book, but it definitely left me feeling a little off. That said, I’m still fully invested in this series and cannot wait for book 4—No One Knows Who Dies at the End. I’ll absolutely be there on release day.

Phew, this book, where do I even start?... First of all. This is definitely the heaviest one of the Death-Cast stories yet, but it was honestly a joy that Silvera talked about the hard stuff with the honesty and respect they deserve. Raw, vulnerable and ugly. But real, and even if they're heavy, they're part of our world. Lots of us have been struggling, lots of us can relate. Lots of us can find hope and feel seen in this book. I know I did. I cried, I laughed, I was biting my fist by the end. I got surprised, too, jaw-dropped even. And the way this book ties into the previous two? Characters coming back, all having significance, both breaking hearts and healing them? Yes, please. This story hurt in the best way possible, while also helped me somehow feel like I do have a place in this world. I was hooked, and I can only say: thank You, Adam Freaking Silvera!!

I know this is how depression works, it lies to you, but I really started to hate Paz with all his not seeing how things were and his spiralling out of control. I also hate not knowing how this story ends, because, of course, I got sucked in, like Silvera always does. I liked the announcement at the end, that maybe we might still get the end of this story afterall.

All I will say is be prepared to cry a lot. This was bought for my daughter and every time she reads it she cries. This is her favorite storyline and she had read it a lot.

The Dead Cast universe was as beautiful as ever, but also incredibly impactful. Reading this book felt like riding a rollercoaster, taking me from one emotion to another

Very good book, sad but very good! Cannot wait for the 4th to come out
