brilliant stars or polluted skies
This filter really blocks unwanted light from moonlight, brilliant stars or polluted skies. Compared with a Lumicon UHC 2", I prefer by far the NPB. I believe this filter is a must.

Too dark and red ghost images
My review is for the 1.25 inch DGM NPB filter. I had detailed views of the Orion Nebula, but this filter was a bit too dark for anything else with my 4.5 inch reflector. Also, this filter created annoying Red ghost images of stars. Even though this filter is highly rated, I took away 3 stars, because it just didn't work well in my 114mm f/4 reflector.

Great filter for color nebula imaging
This filter eliminated a great amount of sky glow so I could get a good image of the Dumbbell nebula on the 1st try. Highly recommended
