Is there any risk in using "too much"? I only have a 3 ton system. Any risk in using all of it?

Really depends on the type of system you have. But for the most part I would not use more than two applications in a year. If your system uses an expansion valve it may stop it up. I got tired of my system and started using the LG dual inverter AC unit. It uses one third of the electricity and saves me about $250 a month.

Does this work with 410A systems?

It should work with any refrigerant system. Be patient installing it. Do not use it all on small systems. It doesn't say that anywhere on the package. It does says that it's enough for a 6 ton AC unit. That being said, don't use it all on a 9 ounce system.

Can it be used on automotive r134a a/c systems?

No, it is for stationary HVAC-R systems.
