This is one of the best in my new collection of books about pond building. Nice photos and lots of practical information. I would have liked to see more build-ups, so you could see exactly how people made specific ponds, with photographs, as they built them ... and then years later. Making a pond is not a simple endeavor. That said, it's a pretty good book.

This is a very practical book. In my case, I made a well-informed decision not to build a farm pond. It was the information in this book that led me to this decision and kept me from making a major, costly mistake and leaving me with a big mud hole. I would consider this a 3,000% return on investment over the cost of the book.

This is not a step-by-step, but rather one man's incoherent ramblings about his pond. The poor grammar and lack of proper sentence structure make this book impossible to read. This is easily the worst "book" I ever purchased, and I will be returning it. If you are looking for a good reference on pond construction and management, this is not it.

I bought this to put in a backyard pond. This is not for a backyard pond. I have a friend whom has a farm pond that I have been trying to help. There very poor oxygen in the lower parts of his lake. I am going to give this to him. He loves to read.

This is a fantastic guide for building large farm ponds.

I appreciate the author trying to do a how to, however this is far from a "step by step." This is clearly a complicated and technical subject, but this book does very little to help a landowner with little excavation experience build a true farm pond. The author had a cousin who owns an excavation company assist in his building process, but mentions this cousin very little. I know it is very difficult to translate practical guidance to written word, so I gave him a break on my rating. Overall, not very helpful to me.

Bought for my grandfather. He loved it.
