This is an excellent product. I want to start my review off by saying that this is not a product that I would typically buy for myself. I was very happy with the results of grilling on my Weber grill (without a mat). My wife bought this for me as a gift, and I couldn’t be happier with it. I wasn’t sure whether or not to keep it, so I checked it out on Amazon. I was glad to see that the packaging matched the images, and after reading the description, I was interested. I was impressed right off the bat with how sturdy the mat was. It feels very sturdy like it is made with high quality materials. I am glad that it came with two mats, because my grill is too big for a single mat. I was impressed to see that when you stack the mats, it didn’t affect the heat transfer where they overlapped. I was also happy to see that they were easy to clean. A simple rinse in the sink, maybe a little scrubbing with a sponge and some soap, and they are good as new. I have had the mats for about 2 weeks, and I have used them about 7 times. So far I have made burgers a few times, hotdogs and brats, salmon, pork chops and a round of grilled chocolate chip cookies. The burgers were great. My niece doesn’t like any pink. I was able to cook them all of the way through, but they held in all of the juices. My niece loved it. I didn’t notice much difference when cooking the brats or hotdogs, because I usually don’t have any trouble with those sticking to the grill. The mats did help even out some of the heat though, so the brats didn’t get burnt by flare ups. The salmon is really where I noticed the difference. I typically had to spray the grill down with an anti-stick agent to keep my salmon from falling apart (My wife cant stand skin-on salmon). The mats were great! The salmon cooked evenly, and slid right off when I was done. The worst part of salmon is the excess cooked to the grill top. No mess here. Overall, this is an excellent product. After a half dozen uses, the mats still look like new and work wonderfully. Great product! And I plan on recommending it to all of my friends’ wives.

First off, as a self-proclaimed grilling aficionado and a BBQ purist, I don't typically use anything but hardwood lump coal and a match, but I thought I'd give this a try. Simply put, this mat is amazing! Let me break down the benefits... 1) Taste: I've used similar grill mat products and experienced a burned-plastic taste (which other reviewers warned me about). Not with this grill mat. This mat preserves the integrity of whatever I'm cooking. 2) Heat transfer: I prefer my steaks seared but not charred, so I get the coals nice and hot (at least 600 degrees) and sear both sides. This mat not only allows the heat through, but I can even get those highly coveted grill marks through the mat! Major plus in my book. Plus, when I'm cooking something greasy like burgers or brats, there's no arm hair-singing grease fire. Not even an occasional flare-up, which is great, considering arm hair is a requirement of a true backyard BBQer. 3) Clean up: Arguably, my least favorite part about grilling is the clean up. I like to create a mess, not clean one up. When I'm done using this mat, I can literally walk it inside (it's cool to the touch) and wipe it down with a paper towel and throw it in the dishwasher. Done. I've even started taking a spare mat with me to the grill in the neighborhood park. Those public grills are disgusting, but with my trust grill mat, my food never touches the rusty, Hepatitis-laden grates. Oh, and I'd be remiss not to mention the utility of these mats, too. On the days that I'm cooking inside, I use this mat in the oven. Baking cookies? Slap one of these bad boys down on the baking sheet and no more scraping burned cookie remnants off of the metal sheet. Cooking a roast? Put this on the bottom of the pan and presto! Clean up has never been easier. I even used the mat as a "catch-all" below a pie pan (no one likes when your whole man-lair (read: house and kitchen) smells like burned toast. Overall impression: Two man-thumbs up!

Tough to get really clean. Great value and especially good for vegetables which get crisp without anything falling through. If you need a heavy sear, make sure you heat the mat during preheating

We have a recipe for a chicken marinade/glaze that contains apricot preserves. This glaze bonds to the grate of our Green Egg like concrete, making it extremely difficult to clean. Difficult to the point where we'd quit making this recipe which made us sad because we love it. I saw this product on Amazon, completely by chance and decided to take a gamble. We've only used this mat one time but it worked great for us. Where the glaze pooled on the mat, it burned (not the chicken -- just the excess glaze), which we expected because of the sugar in the preserves, but it left the grate clean. We let the mat cool naturally and the glaze hardened like very thin brittle. Most of it came right off the mat with virtually no effort on our part. We soaked the mat in warm soapy dishwater for maybe 5 minutes and the rest washed off completely. The only drawback to mention is that the mat adversely affected the accuracy of the Egg's temperature gauge. The chicken cooked just fine but if you're one to rely on the temperature gauge, I don't think you'll be able to with this mat. Again, this review is based on one use. Only time will tell how well it holds up but for now, it gets a very enthusiastic five stars from us. It did exactly what we hope it would do -- kept the grates clean and the glaze washed right off the mat. We've been looking for something like this for a very long time. Highly recommend. Update: We've been using this mat for almost 6 months and I'm pleased to say that it's still working great. We've used it probably a dozen times and it still cleans up so nicely we haven't had to use the second mat. This product still gets 5 stars from us.

This was ordered as a gift. Very nice quality and the friend was thrilled. Perfect for your favorite grilled. Makes cleanup a breeze.

These mats are great for bbqing. They have a good thickness. They are easy to clean too.
