Proctor Silex Panini Press Sandwich Maker Grill & Electric Indoor Grill

Purchased this to replace another brand panini press that finally died. That was no longer available so switched to this one. It works great, has plenty of room for 2 sandwiches and is quick to heat up and use. Easy to clean and best feature, that I had to have, is it can be stored on it’s side so it takes up almost no room on your counter.

I bought this because I have three small children who love grilled cheese sandwiches and it is always hit or miss in a skillet. I get distracted and burn them, can only cook one at a time, and cooks inconsistently even in a stainless steel frying pan. This press has streamlined that whole process, and I wish I had bought this thing YEARS ago! Makes excellent paninis even with thicker Italian or French breads, cooks consistently, and even makes cooked food presentation more attractive with the nice grill marks it leaves. I actually look forward to making grilled cheese sandwiches for my kids now, and they are saying YUUUUMM! Get this press for yourself. You will not be disappointed!

Excellent panini grill at a good price. Simple, sturdy and easy to use.

Our 1400 watt George Foreman died a few days ago, we used it in winter when our grill was put away for the season. It was great for cooking hot dogs, brats, and burgers. So we had to replace it, and decided on something a little smaller because we only use this when cooking for just the 2 of us. We also wanted something with a little less power because we freeze burger patties and like to grill them from frozen, so a longer time cooking at a lower power setting would allow it cook more evenly. After much research, we decided this is the perfect one, with 1000 watts of power and 10" x 7" cooking surface it will easily accommodate 2 burger patties or 4 brats. We haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it'll work out great, we might even take it camping for use on rainy and/ or cold days. We also like the floating top, as it makes it easy to grill both sides of whatever is on the grill, regardless of how thick it is. AND, it's compact, takes up very little room when stored. I took one star off because of the instructions: they are obviously trying to save paper. The instructions are kinda small print, and compacted/ letters spaced to close make it easy to read. Furthermore, there is no advice on cooking anything, zero, notta. UPDATE: We tried it for first time today, and LOVE IT! We cooked two (2) 1/4 Pound FROZEN Hamburger patties, with digital meat temp probe and stopwatch handy, in 7 minutes they were done, cooked all the way thru. Cooking on both sides simultaneously really helps cut down the cook time, it takes far less time than it does on my gas grill, and cooks them much more evenly. So, I recommend 6 ~ 7 minutes for frozen patties, maybe 5 if want a little pink inside.

I've had this press for a year now and I think it's safe to say it's a good one! This thing heats up so fast, in like a minute, and it's great when you want to slap together a sandwich fast but make it melty. Side of chips and voila. Nonstick so you don't really have to use oil or butter and pretty easy to clean.

I love Panini sandwiches and this unit works like a charm. It's lightweight, stands upward is a plus, especially when counter space is limited. It's perfect for 1-2 person home. This unit grills perfectly, quickly, and easy to clean. I highly recommend this unit.

Plug it in wait for the green light and throw anything you want cooked on both sides in it. It cóoks well and it's simple. Great for sandwiches and many other foods.
