Star vs. the Forces of Evil: The Magic Book of Spells Hardcover – Illustrated, September 11, 2018

Looks great and came sooner than expected! Super interesting and fun!✨

The book of spells is so incredibly creative and interesting! I feel like each of these queens is an interesting, fleshed out character and I loved learning about how they shaped Mewni. We get a look into the queens personal lives while also learning more about Star and her life. The book is also interactive which is super interesting!! There are tarot cards you can cut out and a sheet to use them on in the inside of the book sleeve. There are empty pages for you to fill out about you're time with the wand and book of spells as well. And last of all, theres also a code / secret language you can crack to discern even more about the secrets of Mewni! I loved flipping through the book and being delighted and surprised by each new queen and chapter. I can definitely tell that this book was made by people who are passionate and love the world they have crafted.

Book came a little dented, probably during transport but no damage inside the book. Just as advertised. I strongly advise to buy it from here, the book is no longer produced and is getting hard to find it in this good quality with this price.

If you're a fan of the show, you need to get this book! It's got so much information about all the characters, specifically past queens, and the overall history of Mewni! Not to mention secret codes, recipes, and sooo much more!My personal favorite chapters were Eclipsa's (I loved learning more about her backstory), Celena the Shy's, and of course Star's. Learning the history of the queens was so interesting, also some of the spells included were really cute!It doesn't come with the tarrot cards originally promised, but I'd say the contents of the book make up for it. I honestly read the whole book in about a day; I couldn't put it down! It's really amazing, and honestly if you love or even just like the show, you need this book. It's well worth the money.

This is an excellent piece of lore and explanation for the Star Vs universe however some quality control issues keep it from being perfect for me. So let me say I love Star Vs the Forces of Evil. I find it to be a fun enjoyable show and this book does an excellent job at expanding some of the lore of that universe and telling us about past queens of Mewni. However I’ve been through two of these and there’s just some quality control issues as well as a few minor complaints I have that keep it from being a 5-star product. So I’ve had an issue with two copies of this book now where some of the text on the queens introductory pages is slightly faded it’s at random which queen and how many but it has happened twice. As well it annoys me that this book doesn’t fully translate the ancient “queen” dialogue and just sort of is like hey you figure it out I can’t be bothered. Also the fact that the book doesn’t include a copy of the cards for each queen and more or less has a photo copy taped to each queen is annoying. Daron Nefcy did this whole ARG on twitter where certain cards were at certain GPS coordinates and if you happened to be in that area you got that card if you got there first. Would it have been too much to ask to just make copies of those and include them with the book? You could have differentiated the ones from the ARG by having those be signed or 1st edition or something. So in conclusion I really do love this book I just wish it didn’t have the issues I mentioned. It’s still a great buy and I recommend it to anyone who enjoys the show and would like to know a little bit more about the universe.

Bc if the price I thought this might be flimsy but it is hefty with good quality paper and printing. The inside is so adorable and has a huge variety of random stuff. It’s a new book, so the pages aren’t in disarray like the real one but I’ll just put some sticky notes here and there for my cosplay to get the same effect
