To start with let's address the first 800 pound gorilla in the room. Resmed does not sell the F40 elbow system in the USA. The only place I can find the official replacement part listed is on retailers in Australia. In the US you have to order an entire mask kit ($150+) to replace this part. The fact that they refuse to sell one of the least expensive (material wise) parts that has the highest failure rate due to the mechanical nature of the asphyxiation valve and the flexible tubing is immoral at best.Now on to this third party replacement:Pros:Shipped promptlyReasonable pricingQuieter than original part (original is prone to whistle)More consistent asphyxiation valve (less likely to open in use)Cons:High likelihood this is being produced illegally. Is it possible that Resmed has not protected any part of this assembly through patent? Yes, possible, however unlikely. Is it possible that the Chinese manufacturer is paying royalties to Resmed to manufacture and sell the part? Possible but very highly improbable.I would gladly give the item itself higher than 5 stars but have to bring it down to 4 due to the sketchy legality. Regardless, unless or until Resmed does the right thing and sells this replacement part I will continue using and recommending this third party unit.

It's my spare set. Anytime I travel i have a complete spare set. Very convenient. Good fit.

First off this is not an OEM Resmed part. It is an unlicensed 3rd party party manufacturer. Comparing the quality of it against the genuine part is evident it is a knock off.It only worked for 20 days and then it started leaking. Very disappointed in the quality and longevity of this item.
