I've been hearing about dulse as a bacon-like seaweed for a while and decided to try this package. I pan fried it with some oil over medium heat and it comes out paper thin, crispy with some smoky flavor and lots of umami. I can see how some people compare it with bacon, but it's not exactly the same. It's missing that meaty note, but I still love the taste. My only concern with this packaging is there are other things in it, like sea moss dried to the dulse leaves. It feels like they just grab whatever from the ocean, then dry and package it. I'm not sure if this is safe to eat, so I've been picking them out before cooking them. It's also a little soft and tender and not completely dry in the package, I'm not sure if that's good or bad. This is the first time I tried dulse and not sure if these are real concerns. I'm getting another order because I was impressed with this and going to use it as a healthier substitute for bacon. Maybe I'll try another brand and see if they also have the green bits in them.

Do you have hypothyroidism? I do and my body needs iodine and selenium to help my thyroid work better. This stuff has A LOT of both and when I eat this stuff I have mental clarity again! I love how this works naturally with my body to give it the nutrition it needs to preform well! It has a fishy taste and I eat a serving straight from the package. Not the tastiest taste in the world but it allows me to think clearly so I will be buying this stuff for a long time!!

can’t recommend whole leaf product. when eating, it doesn’t break down even when soaked, no matter how much you try to chew it. the texture is more like kombu than dulse. the flavor is also slight. since i bought it, i’ll try it to season a broth and hope for the best.

This dulse tastes great to me (fresh and not too fishy). I like that this dulse is sourced from more pristine, safer waters. At least one reviewer stated that the product is dry. When I've purchased the product from our local grocery store, I noticed the dryness as well. The last four bags I purchased, however---all from Amazon (and fulfilled by Ocean's Balance)---were soft, chewy, and tastier than what I purchased at the store in the past. To keep the product fresh, I store it in airtight glass jars after purchase. I'll definitely be buying this product (directly from Ocean's Balance via Amazon) in the future. I eat dulse for the high mineral content and because seaweed is said to purge toxins from the body.

DIDYOU CHANGE THE WAY YOU PROCESS YOUR PRODUCT? IT IS VERY LEATHERY AND A DIFFERENT TASTE. DOES THAT AFFECT THE NUTRITIONAL VALUE? I DID LEAVE AN INQUIRY FOR SELLER BUT NOT HEARD BACK YET.

Sometimes I'm not cooking This is easy to just pull out a piece to eat and run out the door rather than deal with flakes

It is obvious that this company cares about how they grow and harvest their product. It was just simply nice and consistent in it;s color and taste great. I like to eat it as a snack and like how it taste. I have not been consistent in using it in cooking but when I did it was easy to rinse and cut up for in soups.
