Elephant Ears (colocasia) 3 Bulb- bold tropical effect to and landscape.

3 bulbs came July 11 th. Planted them July 13 th inside my greenhouse in organic shrub and tree soil this is two of them 17 days after planting. None of the 3 had any growth at all when planted. These two got side roots within 10 days then sprouted out the top. The third bulb nothing it was a bit in the soft side I really don’t have much hope for that one doing anything. I just put these outside 2 days ago. They get full sun I would definitely buy these again. My advice for anyone starting these bulbs. Don’t plant them deep. Only cover the tops with a mound of light potting mix about 1 inch covering tops.

UPDATE: I bought these again by mistake, and NONE of the 3 bulbs sprouted. What a waste of money! I'm torn between giving these 3 or 4 stars. I'm torn because only 2 of them are growing well. The bulbs were a good size and all 3 looked healthy. I planted one at first, and then about 2 weeks later I planted the other two. The one I planted first is not growing. It had a 2-week head start, which is why it's disappointing. I'm going to wait another week, and if it's still not growing, I will dig it up and take a look at it. For reference, I used the same potting soil for all 3 and they all get the same amount of sun and water. The first picture shows the one planted a few weeks before the other two. You can clearly see the difference.

I am so thrilled with these bulbs! They are impressive in size, shape, and feel! They are about a half fist size, they are solid, with an alive and hairy feel! I planted them yesterday! I will by more of these and I highly recommend! 3 bulbs for about $12 bucks and the quality EXCEEDS all other bulbs I have ever purchased! No doubt, these are going to grow! I did reduce the rating because one out of the three corms rotted when planted. I planted all three in separate pots at the same time and weeks later two have lovely new sprouts but the third one was not growing so I dug it up only to find that it was a pastey mush. I still feel it was worth getting two good corms out of the three and it was packaged well. But also disappointed to lose one and the soil it was in.

Very slow grow

Only 2 out of the 3 bulbs grew and those 2 bulbs each have 2 large elephant ear leaves. I water them daily and they really are very nice. I will be very happy when they fill in a little more. I planted them in the perfect location where they get a few hours of very filtered sun and the rest of the time they are in the shade. I live in Houston, so they also get a lot of humidity through out the day. I know they will be perfect come this Spring.

UPDATE 8/8/2021 VERY disappointed! One of three bulbs actually grew. One totally lost and one we dug up so we can use the designated space. One grew, the leaves look different then what is pictured. The leaves are facing down. I could have gotten these locally, a lot less expensive around here. Second bulb we dug up and soaked them left out on a garden bench began to grow about 1 week ago. Third bulb disintegrated. Buyer be were!! We bought 3 elephant eat bulbs late December 2020. I had opened the package and the first bulb look fresh and round and perfect. When today comes, May 16, 2021 I am excited to get my 3 bulbs out and plant them. To my surprise, the middle bulb was significantly smaller, more hollow feeling and all around inferior. We soaked the bulbs and planted all 3 bulbs in beautiful organic soil. Time will tell if Thai middle bulb will be viable. It is my fault for not examining all 3 bulbs when I received the package. I just wanted to share my experience. The photo is the 3 bulbs soaking in water. The bulb in the right is the bulb in question. I will update this review as the season progresses.

I planted all three bulbs that I received. Seems like only one came up at first. The other two came up about a month after the first one.

Out of 3 bulbs only 2 grew. I guess that is not bad odds.

The bulbs were small but ok.

Waste of money. Got them, looked small. 5 months later, little plants NOT the big plant that was advertised. Very disappointing

Planted them as soon as I got them around our pond but they never came up at all? And I have a green thumb. For the money it’s expensive for bad seeds.
