Great pen!
Itโs a little hard to use because the instructions are in Japanese, but there are pictures. To get the ink flowing you gotta squeeze it. Then try it out on a scrap paper because the flow can be irregular and it can blot. Once youโve done that, itโs really great for putting white details on top of your artwork. I like this better than a white gel pen because the line can be thick or thin. Also thereโs no scratch down the middle of your line like a gel pen often leaves. And the ink is buildable so if you want less opaque just one layer, for fully opaque you can do more passes until your satisfied.

Try it, you'll like it
Nice white and keeps on going vs some other brands.

Pretty good
I think this is a good pen for its ability to use white ink. Compared to other ways to apply white ink I think this is very average.

Didnโt work for me
I read the negative reviews and decided to give this a try anyway. I followed the instructions to a T and I still canโt get this pen to work. Maybe itโs a batch issue or maybe Iโm doing something completely wrong, but I have never been able to get any ink out of this pen. Itโs a real bummer.

It doesnโt work
I had high hopes for this but I was disappointed. Itโs really hard to control the volume of ink. I use Pentel water brush and other kinds of Japanese black brush pens a lot, so I thought I should be able to control and manage this one too. However, that was not the case. I think the issue comes from its ink. The texture is thick, as other white pens usually are, but it doesnโt go well with brush pens. It worked okay for the first a few times, and then the white paint would dry out at the tip and gradually clog the tube. I had to press harder than usual to make it flow. It would either explode right away, which is actually better, or unexpectedly, it would leak on my paper while I was painting, and ruin my work. Hope they will figure out a better formula for this product.

Love โem
Love these in my paintings to bump up contrast. Hate it when Iโm out of inkโฆ. And plus they seem to walk off by choice or chance.

Great
Really nice white brush marker. It didn't work for black paper but I use it for highlights on watercolor

This leaks horribly
To get the white ink to flow to the brush, you squeeze the sides (very very gently,) except there are two air holes along the sides just above the nib where the white ink just flows out and down the side of the pen no matter how gently and carefully you squeeze. The brush itself doesn't hold that much ink, so you end up having to do this often, and many times large drops of ink will drip out while you are using it, just from the light pressure of gripping the brush, getting large splotches of white ink on your drawing surface. I was very dissapointed in this, as Kuretake brush pens are generally very good.

If it won't work when new...
Follow these steps to get your white fude brush pen to work: 1. Take off the cap and unscrew the tip from the barrel. 2. Remove the yellow ring. 3. Screw the tip back onto the barrel. You can hear a slight click. 4. Replace the cap and shake the pen a few times. 5. Test it on scrap paper until it is as opaque as you like. Enjoy your white brush pen! (And thanks to Jetpens for providing the instructions in English).

No ink due to clog
I primarily purchased this for highlights in my watercolour painting. Nice point, however, sometimes too much ink and sometimes no ink due to clog. Couldn't make it work. I have gone back to old gouache and and small brush for highlights.
