I used to be a draftsman, and this is one of the most comfortable mech pencils I've ever had.
I am delighted with my MUJI Low Center of Gravity Mechanical Pencil. I started working on civy street as a draftsman after I left the military and I have had a wide range of quality mechanical pencils to work with. Now I'm 66 and retired, and my hands shake a little. I needed a pencil like this that is weighted so that I can feel it touching the paper more easily. I love the fact that the tube where the lead comes out is only marginally larger than the lead itself. It allows me to see "around" the lead as I write or draw. I love the knurled grip. I love the fact that the push-button can be rotated to show what grade of lead is in the pencil...HB, F, 2H, 3H, etc, so that you can have two or more pencils with different leads and know which is which. I love the fact that the eraser (which I won't be using) is a standard size and can be easily replaced. The pencil came with five extra leads in the body besides the one that is loaded. It feels good, it writes well, it clearly lets me know what grade of lead is loaded. This pencil is great. I'm buying at least two more: One for softer grade of lead (B) and one for harder (2H). I don't know if they make a .7 or .9 mm low center of gravity model, but I'm going to buy one if they do. BTW... I haven't had it long enough to see how durable it is. If it fails within a reasonably short period of time, I'll come back here and modify this review. In the meantime: I love this thing.

This pencil should be 100$!!!!
before i bought this pencil, i thought to myself “why would i ever spend so much (8$) on a pencil.” after seeing people i know use it, i decided to give it a shot. as soon as i opened it and used the pencil, immediately i fell in love. this was my best purchase ever and certainly i’m getting 5 more as of tomorrow. for something like this, it’s timeless and feels so effortless. if you have an issue like me with handwriting, you need this. even if you don’t have issues with handwriting it’s perfect.one issue is how it’s packaged, in which the pencil is merely covered with a plastic bag. this does not protect the pencil enough to be shipped and there is a minor chance it can break across shipping. other than that, if you get it in perfect condition, you will be very grateful to yourself that you got this superb pencil.

Writes amazing
I really like this pencil because it makes my handwriting 100 times more neat. I tend to grip hard so the metal grip can hurt my finger. Other than that, the quality is amazing and helps me write so much neater.

Perfect for My Mitts
I write hard and fast. Haha. But seriously, I do write quickly and with a heavy hand. Therefore I've always preferred regular wooden pencils, they can withstand a lot of pressure. In the past, mechanical pencils were not well suited for writing like mine, and so I avoided them. This Muji pen is still new for me but it's pretty great so far. The weight it perfect, I don't know why all writing implements aren't weighted like this. The weight adds stability at the base, which makes sense. I'm a pencil tapper so I am a little worried about me bending the clicky-top. The non-heavy metal parts of the pencil seem pretty typical, but that may just be the contrast to the metal. But based on other reviews, I can understand how that contrast in weight and density makes for easy breaks right at the middle. Also, it's a very pretty pencil. The real test will be how it stands up in the long run. A box of pencils is under 5 bucks. I'll give this fancy pants pencil a big leg up on style and efficiency, but durability will be the final judge on whether this pencil was worth it. We shall see...

Muji products never disappoint
As always, I was very pleased with my Muji pencil. I like the weight of it and its clean build is very eye catching. The eraser cap also lets you switch through a set of pencil hardness numbers so you can keep track of what kind of lead you have in the pencil, which is something I haven't seen on my pencils before. I have had quite a few people ask me where I purchased the pencil from, what brand it is, what it even was, etc. so I guess if you want to make a statement with your pencil, this is the one for you. It writes well on all paper and the lead doesn't snap easily meaning its well supported. Oddly enough, some of my old pencils managed to make my lead inserts break up, making them even more difficult to get out. No clue why they did that but that doesn't happen with this pencil. I guess the only qualms I have about this is that the metal tip does not retract completely, meaning it juts out, ready to poke you if you're not paying attention. But of course, it's not life-threatening or anything, so it's not really a con but something to note in case you use this around young children or pets.I love my pencil, which is an odd thing to say, but I truly do! Way to go Muji, you never disappoint.

Basically a Graphgear 500 in white
Though this is branded and distributed by Muji, it's almost identical to the Pentel Graphgear 500. This one has a white plastic body, while the GG500 comes in a variety of darker colors. The GG500 itself is one of my favorite pencils: well-balanced with a quality feel. This version is if anything a tiny bit fancier on account of its slightly nicer eraser cap, which adds a white plastic top over the metal section which the Pentel leaves bare. The Muji top has a lead hardness indicator window in it, so that's an extra feature.

Best Pencil I have ever used.
I usually only keep 1 pencil with me because I never lose them so I decided to get this pencil for this semester and have been using it every day. it's sturdy and the weight makes writing actually faster and more precise. The lead is kept in place very sturdily and doesn't push too much out per click of the pencil which is my biggest gripe about most mechanical pencils. I don't think I will be able to go back if this pencil breaks.
