Thank you for the refund of the initial payment. Unfortunately, I spent much more, like $5.00 at the beginning ,for returning not working remote control, and $ 14.19 for returning your VCR, which DID NOT RECORD in my place, even with the help of a mechanic. "Auto programmed" went well, all channels logged in,I could watch them on my TV set, but IT DID NOT record needed program, and I ordered it TO RECORD programs. It just DID NOT work! I lost so much time,and so many programs I have intended to record, not mention above expences, and got a lot of aggravation on the top of it. And VCR set , even, as I knew about it, was refurbish, but dirty, not cleaned properly, like was long standing in dusty place. Believe me, NEVER AGAIN with your JWK Electronics, as not reliable. The VCR arrived Quickly and was packaged perfectly - very secure and professional. Everything worked great right out of the box. Excellent seller who clearly cates about their customers and their products. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!

It'll serve my purposes but I was hoping for a better picture quality. The unit lacks a tracking control which would possibly improve picture quality. The remote appears to be for a Sony TV, not the VCR, so many controls on the remote are unnecessary. The unit has ejected some VHS tapes as soon as I put them into the VCR, and also refused to rewind some tapes - uncertain as to why this is happening.

Pleased with my purchase

Good things first: It was packed well and the remote didnt need programing. Bad things : the vcr was dirty. Noticed a loose peice rattling inside. Oh yes and the thing didnt work.... immediately asked to return it. More good things : I was able to return it. And I downloaded the offer up app and was lucky enough to buy to Vcrs and one dvd player all for 35 bucks .

This VCR works great! I did a lot of off & on searching for a replacement for my old Sony over the summer and into the fall. This caught my eye because it's a Sony, was priced fairly, and the seller had good reviews & feedback. I always wait for a few weeks at least before reviewing electronics & this VCR I've been using since October 2020 . It's almost identical to my old one, came with a Remote that shipped in the same package as VCR, so that made it even better I didn't have to wait to use it. So far it has performed flawlessly, & is a much better option for me than the more expensive VCR TO DVD converter machines. Very happy & would buy again!

This is the 3rd VCR I've bought here and the first one that meets the threshold, barely, of usability for me. I have an old VCR/DVD combo, but the original Remote quick working long ago and haven't been able to find a replacement. All I wanted to do is pre-set the times and channels for a few show I want to watch without having to do it manually. I go to bed early and it's a pain to get up to manually set the record feature. Anyway, this SONY meets that very basic requirement. Only got it yesterday and set it up this morning. Two problems though, It won't record at EP or SLP, only SP. So my longest tape at 2hrs, 45 minutes at SP will have to do. Other issues, did a test record and when playing it back the audio is just at the level I can hear and make out what's said, etc. Also the remote, while a SONY, is NOT the one shown here on Amazon and is more complicated. With more experience I will likely work out a few more functions like on screen display for rewind, fast forward, etc. Bottomline, if I hadn't had credit card points that paid for just over half of the cost for this machine, I'd likely return it. But at least I can pre-set it to record with on screen display which I couldn't do with my other machine.
