I purchased this product two years ago and I keep coming back to it time after time! It is an exquisite product. Feels and performs like high-end luxury makeup. It blends effortlessly into the skin and lasts me all day! I have extremely oily skin, so I do need to prepare my skin appropriately. I honestly have never had a foundation that was as easy to blend as this one. Quick, easy, no fuss. Keeps my rosacea covered and doesn’t flare up my adult acne. The packaging is also top notch and no nonsense.

I love this serum foundation! Probably should have picked the light shade instead of fair but I just use some bronzer! This is so lightweight and acts like a serum. It covers like a tinted moisturizer, which it still covers age spots and leaves my skin so soft and smooth! I’m going to order the light color for more coverage. Worth the money!

too cakey

Kept me glowy and hydrated ALL day. I have combination skin, and this product melted in nicely and looks like my skin but better. It does take a little effort to blend in, but nothing crazy. The lightest shade is a lot lighter than what is shown - so if you are very pale, this would be great for you.

I’m surprised at how much I like this. I am 27 years old and have very pale, cool tone skin. I’ve been looking for a tinted moisturizer for some time and really haven’t been able to find anything that meets the mark. While this definitely isn’t a tinted moisturizer, the fact that it is primarily skin care with some tint piqued my interest. I have sensitive combination skin with some heavy dry patches and a lot of acne around the chin. My skin tends to get very oily within a couple hours of the day starting. This product feels more matte than I was expecting it to, but that just helps it stick on a little bit better. I will say that it dries down pretty quickly so you have to work fast to blend it out but because it’s such a sheer coverage, it’s fairly forgiving. It’s not a flat matte finish but really just looks like skin. I do think it cleans my dry patches a little bit but nothing horrible considering this is under $20. I like that it’s fragrance free as well. I have a fragrance allergy and you’d be surprised how much of our skin care has perfume in it. I like to apply this with the beauty blender and I think it gives some pretty good even coverage. It does pill a bit for me but nothing major. Overall, I’m really pleasantly surprised. I have been trying some $40-$60 complexion products that I thought would work out for me and this is really great considering the price. I did take one star off because I feel like it can look a little streaky and may dry down before you get the chance to blend those streaks out.

I don’t need much coverage. I use mostly skin tints and hate the feel or look of heavy foundation. I have quite a few products but this CoverGirl essence is my current favorite. I combine both fair and light together and it’s the perfect color for me. It feels so silky and melds into the skin. It’s looks glowy and healthy. I add a little powder and setting spray. The finish is smooth and it lasts all day. I like that it has skincare in it. It seems to be improving my skin, but I wear it everyday. It’s so easy! Love it!!

After reading some of the reviews, I was a bit leery of purchasing this product but it was such a good price I thought I’d give it a try. I am pleasantly surprised with this the performance and look of this foundation. After years of heavy matte foundations, I was delighted to discover how nicely this foundation sits on my combination skin. It’s on the on the sheer side but I found that it evens out my skin well enough and has a natural glowy finish but isn’t shiny or sparkly. I found it applies best by putting a small amount on the back of my hand and using a brush to blend the pigment and liquid together, applying to my face with a stippling motion and then swirling the brush to blend. I picked the lightest shade and use a concealer to patch up darker spots. A few Touch ups throughout the day with a blotting powder and I’m good to go.

First, this offers very little coverage. Yes I get it’s a tint but it’s not even that. Second, it doesn’t spread or blend nicely. Third, it’s kind of greasy and sticky feeling, even 10 minutes after applying. Fourth, it has a weird metallic finish to it if you don’t blend enough or too much, who knows. Fifth, it hugely emphasized every pore, line, and texture on my face. It literally covers nothing but emphasizes everything. And as a mature person with oily skin, this is a hard pass. It feels so gross on the skin. Probably the worst tint on the market. And way over priced. Total garbage.

I was pleasantly surprised by this! It works well with my aged skin. It is easy to apply and truly will match your skin with light coverage. The product is buildable and lightweight. I didn't feel like I had applied coverage but instead a moisturizer. The cream is very moisturizing and provides perfect coverage for a no-makeup look and would be great for everyday office wear. I found it easy to match my skin colour.

Wonderful. Not heavy on skin. Great for mature ladies

I was originally frustrated with this because I had troublel mixing the pigments into the gel on my face. I switched over to mixing it on my hand and then applying it to my face, and that changed the game entirely. Very lovely texture, decent coverage for a low coverage product (it evens out skin tone, and I go in with pin point concealer afterwards). Definitely will be re-ordering.
