Now waiting for the newer tier to go on sale...
Oh boy, when the times of online service subscriptions were cheaper and we still complained... Buying these on sale for $30-40 for an entire year was like taking candy from a baby. They all worked as intended and got many years of PS Plus still flowing.

Very good deal overall, especially if you have a Vita
If you were on a budget you could just pay for this membership and play the many games that comes with it and not be without games. They add a lot of good games (I find for me I find something interesting every few months) to the point I have a huge backlog now and am starting to worry if I'm going to fill up my PS3's hard drive (I've only been a member 5 months now). Also, you will always have access to any "free" games you download on PS+ as long as you are a member. So if you need to stop paying for a while (and aren't playing the games), you can pick PS+ up later and get access again to all the games you downloaded before under PS+. Think of it like Netflix but you get to play the games offline as well, no internet required to play the games you get (just internet required to obtain them and probably also every time when your sub runs out you'll need to connect once to let the game license know you are good for another year or so <- you can stack years). Also, if you have a Vita, I really can't stress that you really should subscribe. It seems that a lot of the best Vita games make it onto this membership (I've gotten Gravity Rush, Wipe Out, Uncharted, Rayman Origins all on it and that's just the Vita specific games, not even including the PSP games like GTA Tales of Liberty City. And I know Persona was on it at one time as well as Assassin's Creed). Bad side of being a PS+ member when you have a Vita? You're going to want a large memory card of which those are super overpriced :(. But if you wait good deals come around (well at least deals that make the cards more reasonable). Like I just picked up a 32 GB for 40 bux. Also, the cloud storage saves is really nice to have and you can get some really good discounts (FF XIV was half off when I wrote this review on both the regular and special edition) on digital games. Plus sometimes you get to play beta trials (I discovered Killzone for the Vita through the beta trial I could participate in as a PS+ membership). It's sad that Sony will not allow MP without PS+ on PS4, but the fact that they offer so much for it that I got this before they even announced that (and I'm a cheapskate and usually don't go for these kind of services) has me not caring too much. I already have PS+ for stuff Sony actually offers me extra so it doesn't feel like I'm being cajoled into paying rather than them offering me a good value to join.

PS+ Well worth the money
Ever since Sony introduced the PS+ free games the PS+ membership has more than paid for itself. Here is a list of games that were made available for free in the past but keep in mind that titles expire and are no longer free unless you snagged them when they were free:Wipeout HDCritter CrunchMushroom WarsZen PinballBurn Zombie BurnShatterSackboy's Prehistoric MovesSam & Max: The Devil's Playhouse (episodes 1–5)Lead and Gold: Gangs of the Wild WestDigger HDStackingSonic the HedgehogComet CrashSonic the Hedgehog 2Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the PlaneswalkersStreets of Rage 2Bomberman UltraGolden AxeCrash CommandoComix ZoneAltered BeastAstro TripperPlants vs. ZombiesCostume QuestElemental MonsterDead NationHydrophobia: ProphecyTomb Raider: UnderworldMarvel PinballBack to the Future: The Game (episodes 1–5)Swords & SoldiersInferno PoolThe Simpsons Arcade GameBattle FantasiaFar Cry 2Fatal Inertia EXHamsterballMahjong Tales: Ancient WisdomSupersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-CarsSly Cooper and the Thievius RaccoonusSuper Street Fighter II Turbo HD RemixShank 2Shift 2: UnleashedFrogger ReturnsAwesomenautsTrine 2Rock of AgesChoplifter HDHard Corps: UprisingJust Cause 2Lara Croft and the Guardian of LightSaints Row 2Sideway: New YorkVirtua Fighter 5: Final ShowdownWarhammer 40,000: Space MarineZombie Apocalypse: Never Die AloneInFamous 2LittleBigPlanet 2Ratchet & Clank: All 4 OneGotham City ImpostorsPac-Man Championship Edition DXRenegade OpsThe Walking Dead (episodes 1&2)BloodRayne: BetrayalOutlandBorderlandsDouble Dragon NeonScott Pilgrim vs. the World: The GameStarhawk (single player)NFL BlitzThe King of Fighters XIIIPayday: The HeistResident Evil 5: Gold EditionQuantum ConundrumDungeon DefendersBioShock 2RochardSuper Street Fighter IV: Arcade EditionAnomaly: Warzone EarthRetro City Rampage (cross-buy)NBA Jam: On Fire EditionMega Man 9Mega Man 10DarksidersFoosball 2012 (cross-buy)Guardians of Middle-earthClosure FVanquishSpec Ops: The LineJoe Danger 2: The MovieThe CaveDemon's SoulsLabyrinth LegendsMaliciousZombie Tycoon II: Brainhov's Revenge (cross-buy)Sleeping DogsKnytt Underground (cross-buy)The Pinball Arcade (cross-buy)Deus Ex: Human RevolutionMachinariumLittleBigPlanet Karting JUncharted 3: Drake's Deception (single player)XCOM: Enemy UnknownSaints Row: The ThirdBattlefield 3Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee HDJet Set RadioHitman: AbsolutionBit.Trip Presents Runner 2: Future Legend of Rhythm AlienZen Pinball 2: Star Wars Pinball (cross-buy)Resident Evil: Chronicles HD CollectionGalaga Legions DXIcoKingdoms of Amalur: ReckoningShadow of the ColossusPoker Night 2Hotline Miami (cross-buy)Dragon's Dogma: Dark ArisenIbb and ObbBinary DomainGrid 2Borderlands 2DyadDmC: Devil May CryBioShock InfiniteBrothers: A Tale of Two SonsPlayStation 4ContrastResogunDon't StarveA complete list can be found on Wikipedia.
