Uriah Products UV002500 Adjustable, Universal Crossbar, Battery Hold Down

I read several reviews before about this. It is a universal battery hold down. So that means you may need to make some modifications. It is nice and sturdy and works well. The hold down bolts are really long so you will need to cut them probably. I just put them in with the hold down in and marked about an inch above - took them out and cut them. Easy. The hold down bolts are L-shaped and not j-shaped or a hook. Easy. I just put them in a vice and smacked the end with a hammer. Boom they are now a J to V shaped on the end and hook perfectly. The battery hold down itself has ridges that will prevent you from tightening up the wing nuts. To solve this issue you can stack washers or a nut and a washer or you can just flatten the ridges with a hammer on the same vice you just used to bend the ends. Easy. The reviews were kinda funny to read since this is universal and will probably need some type of modification to make it work. The only drawback was that they didn’t include a thick washer to ride under the wing nut. That would have solved the ridges problem. And it was on the picture so. Other than that, pretty nice hold down. With all the modifications it probably took 15 minutes to install.

I own two Pathfinders, that didn't have the correct battery hold downs. This unit is my second unit for my second Pathfinder since the first worked flawlessly! I do some pretty rough off road adventures and this unit is better than OEM! Fitment is better especially if you get a bigger battery than OEM since it can be adjusted to the battery size! GET IT you won't be disappointed! I wish these were sold locally because I'd buy in bulk. I'm a 30 year certified mechanic.

Not the most amazing strap. Feels like I have to retighten it once a month. But for the value I guess it’s not that bad. It’s not the most eye catching thing but it does the job. It fits good when it holds. Easy install just won’t hold.

My son has a 2007 Nissan Frontier and for some reason, his mounting posts were gone. I purchased this to install in his truck since I was concerned the others would be too short. After receiving, I had to actually cut down the posts or the hood could have possibly touched the posts. Also had to bend the bracket out where the wing nuts tightened like others mentioned. I personally will be replacing the wing nut on the top with a nylon nut since the wing nut will loosen due to vibration and make the bracket be able to widen and loosen. Otherwise, good value for the money.

A certain popular store had sold me and "installed" a car battery. I later discovered they didn't bother to put back the hold down clamp, so the battery was able to move around. I bought this basic clamp. It installed easily. The bracket that goes over the center of the battery is adjustable to fit the width of your car's battery tray. The long bolt/hooks then grab onto the bottom of your existing battery tray. Since the bracket's adjustable, and the bolts are long, this hold down clamp's pretty much universal and easy to install.

The battery hold down is sturdy and a good product... the only thing that needs improvement is the tabs that stick up on the side of the wing nut stop the wing nut from tightening the cross bar down. I just used a crescent wrench or hammer to bend the tabs down a little as shown in the pic. The other issue is the metal rods are not bent at a angle its the shape of L. I put the metal bar in a vise and hit it a bunch of times in till the L shape was bent to a V shape.... other than that its a good buy!

This thing did not fit my Honda Accord. The bolts are too long, they hit the hood, I had to cut off about half of the thread. The top side is far too flimsy, it lacks a second screw to hold the two pieces together. I had to drill a hole and secure the two sliding pieces with a second screw. My Accord battery was also to narrow to be securely grabbed by the top piece, I had to cut of a chunk of one of the pieces (the end with the screw hole) to be able to move the top pieces even closer together. The hooks have no undercut so they will easily slip out of the holes at the battery compartment even if tensioned. I had to cut a V with angle grinder into the hooks to securely hold them in their respective holding holes. Do not buy this.

Upgrade my battery on my 05 CRV from the little 51r to an AGM 35. One of the jhook would not fit in the OEM jhook hole so had to use 1 OEM hook. Not a big deal. Holds down the battery tight, easy to adjust.

This bracket was exactly what we needed. We snapped the old one due to rust in an older vehicle. This one mostly fit exactly as we needed. The gripe is where you go to put the bolts at the top to keep it clamped down. They left metal sticking up around the hole for the pin. You can't twist the hand turned bolt tight enough due to raised edges. My solution was to use a dremel to grind it down. Once I did that I was able to rotate the nuts and get it super tight. Hopefully they fix this flaw in the future, or use real nuts instead of the hand tightening ones. Then they would be small enough you could use a ratchet to tighten them up.
