I really like these earbuds! As an advid headphones user, I decided to switch to ear buds for a bit so I wouldn't have to deal with the clunkiness of headphones and how annoying it is to wear them with my big hair at times, and these work pretty good. The sound quality is nice and clear. The quality is good when quiet, medium, and loud. Of course, not as good as headphones, but that is something I will have to get used to and is completely expected because they are not the same things! And while the sound is great, that is not my main focus. The way they fit in my ear is. And I have to say I am extremely happy that they fit snuggly and do not slide out or anything like that! They stay right in my ear without issue, which is very rare for me because I have small ear canals... smaller than normal.. No other earbuds would ever feel or sit securely in my ears-- even with their smallest earpiece option applied they would constantly slip out! But these work perfectly with the smallest ear piece size! I've finally found the perfect fit!! The cord is also long enough to not be a problem to me, and I like how the jack thing is sideways rather than the typical long ways. It makes it far less likely to accidentally yank it out of my MP3, which was quite the common occurrence for me. I can't comment on the microphone or call button quality and functions, as I use these with my Sony MP3 Walkmans, so I only use the audio aspects of these earbuds.

I recently lost my earbuds while traveling and where looking for replacements. I had been using a pair of JVC HAFX66 which I absolutely loved as well as my Apple earbuds which were only used for phone calls. So the search began looking for a set of earbuds that hopefully could solve my previous use of two different sets of earbuds to handle music while working out as well as being able to use it for phone calls. I am cheap when it comes to earbuds since I tend to lose or destroy them on a somewhat regular basis, so I try to spend under $30. I have a similar rule for sunglasses for the same reason. To note, my preference is for bass heavy sound. I listen to just about anything from rap, country, rock, classical, and anything else in between. It doesn't matter, I like bass. I was able to compare directly side-by-side the older M6P, M6, M7P, and the RP-TCM125. **MEE M6P I have had these since 2010, but had never used the MIC on them. I just used them at work and at the gym for music for many years. These were very bass heavy which I liked, but not quite as bright in the mids and highs. For the price, these could not be beat at the time. I am pretty sure I paid under $15 for these. +comfortable +decent sound quality +bass heavy +stayed put in my ears +included carrying case -tips came off easier than I would have liked (I have newer M6 that seem to not have this issue) -cable failure in one pair (many years of use and abuse) -MIC voice quality (far end stated I sounded muffled) -MIC issues on iPhone6 (lots of popping, clicking...remember this is a 6 year old set) **JVC HAFX66 I had owned the JVC HAFX66 since around 2011 and had gone through 2-3 pairs due to either losing them or getting them run through the washer/dryer accidentally. It appears they are no longer available as well as I would like something with a MIC on it. +very comfortable (used them for background music on a 12hr flight) +sound quality was more balanced the the M6P (strong bass, but mids/highs were smoother) -no MIC **JVC HAETR40 Extreme Sports Pivot Motion Fit These were my first replacements to try since I could pick them up at a local store. In the end, I ended up returning them mostly due to the lack of bass. If these had been cheaper, I probably would have kept them as backup since they were quite functional and comfortable. +fit good +very clear sound quality +MIC worked, no complaints from the far end about my voice quality +short cord +included cord extension -short cord (was almost too short, but then too long with the extension) -lack of bass....serious lack of bass The lack of bass is what ultimately doomed these for me. The bass was lacking so much, it was like they weren't seated properly within my ear...yet they were. I really wanted to like these. **Panasonic RP-TCM125 These were ordered based upon reviews I found for best bang for your buck. These were just to be music earbuds since they don't have a MIC. I have not used these yet while exercising so unknown how well they will stay put. For sure, these are the most balanced sounding out of all of the earbuds I have so far. These overall seem to me to have the best all around sound. +comfortable fit +sound quality is wonderful (voices are warmer, bass is still strong) -cable seems to be pretty cheap, weak (reminds me of the cheapo dollar store ones) **MEE M7P I was still looking for a proper earbud with MIC that can do it all. The price was right and my history with MEE was good so why not. +fit good +good sound quality (bass not as strong as M6) +stay in place while running +comes with carrying case +MIC worked, no complaints from far end about my voice quality (while sitting still) -MIC was popping or dropping out when I was up and moving around (I have a support ticket open on this) **MEE M6 I went ahead and also purchased a set of M6 since I pretty knew I would like these. +fit good +stay in place no matter the activity +sound quality decent (strong bass, but mids and highs aren't as powerful) +comes with carrying case -no MIC So all of this....which pair do I use the most? The M7P will end up in my laptop bag for sure for travel purposes...but more than likely I will end up using the M6 the most since I know it stays put while running.

Everyone has heard the saying "You get what you pay for"... But there are those rare moments where you purchase something that is low cost and you get more than you would expect. I would say the Panasonic Ego-Fit (RP-TCM125-K) Earbuds fit that bill! I have owned various earbuds from known to not so well known brands from low costing to high cost buds. The things I look for in earbuds 1. Sound 2. Comfort 3. Durability... The sound from these earbuds are very good exceeding that of earbuds that are $50 price range. 1. Sound: the sound is balanced. I like the fact that the bass isn't overpowering is a good thing. The mids and highs are good but not great as you would hear on higher end earbuds. Also, I love the fact that my ears don't feel fatigued when listening for long periods of time. For cell phone calls calls were clear. I also asked callers how I sounded on their end and they said my voice was clear as well. 2. As for comfort: These are one of the most comfortable earbuds I have worn. They are light and have a snug fit (different size pads s/m/l). I really hate it when I wear earbuds that are too have or having that irritating feeling that something is stuck rubbing in your ear, or some foreign object that doesn't belong there. Arghhhhh. I've never had an issue of these popping out or my ear or that feeling that it will. I am wearing them now as I write this... Listening to SADE. 3. Build/Durability: This isn't it's strong point: The casing/enclosure is plastic which is a benefit for it's weight and comfort. The wiring is thin but the good thing is that they are well shielded. There is no interference or static when rubbing on clothing or hard surfaces. I have gone through a couple of these lasting from 6 months to over a year. There are times I can be abusive to my buds. But if you don't go around beating them they should last you for a while. I would highly recommend the Panasonic ErgoFit as an overall great deal when it comes to getting something that you get more than you pay for!

WOW! So impressive for the price. Great sound quality and definitively drowns out background noise without having to crank the volume up. Speaker/microphone for calls works well too.

Solid product! So far. 8 months later it’s still working as expected. Daily use. Prior to this I went through two Amazon basics equivalent within about a year+ If I recall correctly, the amazon basics failed in two ways: 1 set: one side died. 2nd set: minijack connection failed. For sound and performance, I can’t comment much on differences. I use them daily with a tethered adapter on my iPhone, mostly listening to podcasts/news. But sound quality is absolutely good enough. Even when I occasionally listen to music.

I've been getting these for years, and they used to be great quality, like solid 5 out of 5 in sound quality, mic quality, & durability. The price was also amazing (back then). I'd buy a few just to have them in different spots when I needed it. Bluetooth, no matter how great, just never provides the same quality of sound, even the overpriced AirPods. So I keep getting phones that I can use normal earbuds with. NOW, I almost even put it at 2 stars. I've bought 3 pairs, just assuming/hoping I was getting "duds". I'm not. The jack is poorly connected to the cable. Any slight movement creates static, causes sound/mic gaps, or if I'm listening to spotify, stops it from playing because of the interrupted connection. If I'm not moving the sound & mic are still acceptable. That's the only thing keeping it at 3 stars. I do need to find an alternative. These fit my ears so perfectly, I've been dragging my feet, but I'm tired of it.

UPDATE: The replacement pair I received had none of the problems I had described below. That replacement pair worked well until this month (February 2021), when the left earbud stopped working. I just ordered another pair, and it is again working well, not suffering from any of the problems I had described below. So, I am giving these a five-star rating, but I do note, along with many other reviewers, that Amazon and/or Panasonic seem to have trouble differentiating the "real" pairs of these earbuds from the apparently fake knock-offs. I think the "real" pairs deserve a five-star rating because 1. the audio quality is very good, 2. the build quality is fairly good (each pair has lasted about a year for me, with nearly daily use), 3. the microphone works fairy well, and 4. the price is unbeatable. These were previously The Wirecutter's topic pick for wired earbuds. They now say "this pair simply lacks the detail and the deep low notes that the JBL Live 100 achieves" (https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/best-headphones-under-40/#other-under-50-earbuds-we-like-panel). The JBL Live 100, however, cost about four times more. And, speaking as someone who does care about audio quality but isn't an audio professional, these earbuds sound great to me in terms of detail and low notes. * * * PREVIOUS REVIEW: I have purchased these earbuds four times. The first three times (February 2017, October 2017, November 2018), they were of consistent quality. This fourth time (September 2019), however, I noticed four problems: 1. The left and right audio channels are reversed, which is obviously unacceptable and the primary reason for my one-star review. 2. The audio quality is worse. One of the earbuds of my previous pair still works, allowing me to compare them directly. The new pair had much less bass and sounded tinny. 3. The microphone and control button are now on the left side, which is unusual. (I wonder whether this is related to the left and right channels being reversed.) 4. The control button was much stiffer and difficult to press. I have requested a replacement pair and will update this review once I test it. I've used a TON of different pairs of earbuds/earphones ranging in price and quality all the way from Samsung and Apple's abysmal pack-ins up to some of my all-time faves, the Etymotic ER-4P and Shure SE530. I've run my phones amplified, un-amplified, through my Dragonfly DAC, straight from the laptop's line out, from multiple phones and media players. Long story short, I do possess the ability to provide an educated opinion on whether a pair of buds should be worth buying and which shouldn't be. And you know what the real shocker is? Hand over fist, I'd recommend these Panasonics over just about any pair of earbuds under 50 bucks. There are a few exceptions in the budget arena, such as the Xiaomi Piston II and Forte Life S which excel in their own rights, but as an all-rounder these really can't be beat. They're ridiculously comfortable, seal very quickly (though they could stand to come with another pair of slightly larger silicone tips for listeners with Viking-sized ears...very few people will need this option), offer a very pleasant sound signature, and (maybe most important) has a price point that makes it a serious contender in the budget arena. As far as the sound signature is concerned, I feel safe in saying they were tailored to the average consumer. First, there's definitely plenty of bass. Much like the Forte Life S, it's hard to look at the size of these things and expect them to dig down towards the sub-bass regions. Granted, it's not going to give you the sensation of strapping a subwoofer to your skull, but they shouldn't leave you lacking, either. Next, there's a healthy amount of midrange and listeners of the majority of rock subgenres should feel very happy. Electric guitars have a definitely advantage here and there's a lot of meat in tracks like Crossfade's "Washing the World Away" or Dark New Day's "Brother." Finally, at the top, you get a smooth yet (in my humble opinion) premature rolloff. Perhaps in an attempt to tame the typical sibilance of most consumer-level headphones, they thought an early rolloff would be an advantage and most listeners certainly won't complain. There are those, however, who will want a pair with more "sparkle," in which case I'd suggest doubling your investment and going with either the Xiaomi or Forte. As far as fit and comfort are concerned, I have zero complaints. If there ever was a straight drop-in solution, Panasonic has things on lock. I don't find myself needing to perform intricate maneuvers like pulling my ear lobes back (a la Etymotic) or twist-locking (Yurbuds is notorious for this). Instead, I get an immediate seal without feeling like I'm putting undue pressure at any point. I can see these providing hours upon hours of comfortable use. Final notes: The remote and built-in mic work as intended, though only has a singular button for accepting/ending calls vice separate volume controls (most likely to assist with cross-compatibility between Apple and Android devices). I can't speak much on durability as these have only been unboxed for a few hours, but will do my best to update after I run them through the gamut that is your typical submarine underway period. Cord length feels more than adequate without feeling like I have far more than I need. For your person of 5'10-6' tall, you'll be fine keeping these plugged in and storing your media device in your pants pocket. The 45-degree termination for the headphone jack should help provide the necessary strain relief and the jack itself is skinny enough that it shouldn't have an issue with phone cases that don't offer a healthy opening for headphones. TL;DR: These Panasonics should be a MUST OWN for anyone concerned with good sound. Are they a replacement for my Shures or Etymotics? In a way, yes. I can pay 20 bucks for these and replace as necessary without worry in a more rugged environment. Still, if pristine sound quality or a truly flat signature is your concern, these probably aren't the way to go and you're probably not looking at the $20 price bracket. I feel comfortable in saying that you'd really have to more than double your budget to attain that goal.

I wanted a comfortable headset for zoom/skype calls as well as well as listening to music. I spent ages looking around and settled on these, almost in spite of their price. They didn't disappoint. People comment on the good mike sound when I'm on a call, and when Iisten to recordings of zoom calls I've been on, the sound quality is more pleasing that of some people wearing obviously expensive headsets with a mike near the mouth. It's a mellow but clear sound, not precise but harsh like many. The sound on the earbuds is also very pleasant. It doesn't seem prone to clothes rustling sounds transmitting to the mike, like many of this sort, or cable rustling sounds coming thru to the earbuds, although of course some of that happens. The connector feels sturdy, and hopefully less prone to disintegration that the straight connectors. And the hype is true, the earbuds themselves fit very neatly and comfortably. I've only had them a few weeks, so longevity is unknown. I dont usually review items, but felt that this deserves a shout-out, and I'd happily pay double the price.
