So much fun for outdoor parties!
Now that the weather has finally warmed up for spring, we are outside again and entertaining on the back patio. We were having a small get-together last week and since it is still too chilly to swim, I busted out this bad boy and floated it in the pool. My college-age son and all his friends were asking WHAT!! is that?!! They love to play golf and they were on this thing like flies on honey. They had a great time playing with it, and a couple of the dads joined in, too. They found it quite difficult to land a ball on the green (the dads did better than the college kids, but to be fair the dads are fairly serious golfers), but the difficulty is a good thing because the it sparked their competitiveness and they wanted to keep playing and playing. My son's friends even showed up again the next day to play some more. The mat itself floats nicely and seems really well made. The set even came with 48 floating golfballs, which is such a generous number. It also comes with a rope so you can tether it in place, or you can leave the rope off and let the golfing green float wherever the current takes it. Overall this is a great novelty "toy" for older boys and girls, meaning adults. I'm sure younger kids would love it, too. We had a lot of fun playing it and it really livened up our get-together. I am a bit fan of party games that people can play in an unstructed manner, like cornhole or darts. They can really liven up the atmosphere at a party. Those who want to join in can, and the competition ends up being entertainment for those who just want to hang out and watch the games. This floating golfing green falls into that cateogry, because it is just for fun, and the people watching the competition heat up have fun, too. This floating golf green is something so different that most people haven't seen, so it creates a lot of interest and people are drawn to it. Overall this is lots of fun. Just one person can play and practice on their own, or two or three can play a friendly game, or with 48 balls you can have a larger group and everyone can take two or three swings before you need to get the net and gather up the balls. Overall tons of fun! We love it!

FORE! Golfers Or FORE! Just Playing! No club included
I imagine "real" golfers would enjoy practicing with this set. My family belongs in the "every few decades mini golf" group, but we're still getting a kick out of playing our own home version of mini golf on the concrete walkway area surrounding my studio. I set the turf down as far as I can, and we take turns hitting our balls to try and make it "in" the hole. Once that Hole's complete, I drag the turf somewhere else for us to have another go, 😂. - I ordered a golf club separately -- none are included. I guess they figure golfers who own their own pool also would own golf clubs. - The two boxes of foam "act similar to the real thing" golf balls are very nice quality and come individually vacuum-wrapped in plastic. My mom and I especially are relieved that they'd likely do no damage should one of our wild swings land a ball on the neighbor's window. - The two-sided glossy instruction sheet also includes some ideas for extra games to play - white rope is nylon - The turf "grass" appears to be woven in. Makes me think of those original fake Christmas trees. It tops a backing that makes the whole thing float -- if you're blessed to have a pool or lake that would be cool. Gee, I might rent a kayak and drag this in the bay for fun. Maybe a seal or otter will hop on for a ride! I'm thinking s dog would also enjoy the turf, if you don't have real grass, haha. - Don't lose the white circular "hole" when you dump out the box contents. It doesn't look like much, and it isn't cut perfectly, though almost. - Note that the humongous box it comes in is marked all over with what's inside, so if it's a surprise gift for someone in your household, you'll want to figure out the best timing to order it, plus where you will hide it! - I'm 5'6" and the photo shows how tall it is compared to my shoulder, plus at least twice as wide and the turf is folded on the inside!

So. Much. Fun!
I unboxed my Splash Chip Pro floating golf green in the presence of my six and eight-year-old granddaughters. Within ten minutes we were chipping away. It comes shipped folded in half, so there is a large note along with the instructions that talks about the crease in the middle of the green and what to do about it (including waiting 3-4 days for it to fully disappear). However, nobody wants to wait that long for the fun to begin. Everyone was so excited to try it out that I simply folded it in the opposite direction from how it was shipped, lightly stepped on the crease a couple times, and tossed it into the pool. It has some heft to it but does not sink. We found that within 30 minutes of being exposed to the sun, the crease was almost imperceptible. They include two sets of floating golf balls (generously 24 each) in two colors: white and yellow, and a mat for chipping which can be placed anywhere around the pool. It’s cleverly designed with a small “rough” around the perimeter and a white patch to simulate a sand trap. The instructions are straightforward but they could simply say, unbox and have fun. There are also game and competition suggestions on the back side of the instructions, and they include a golf cup sized white rubber target that can be placed anywhere on the mat to simulate a golf cup (for those hole-in-ones). There are two pre-drilled holes in the mat for use with two included ropes if you want to tie the mat in place. (We enjoyed just letting it float into different positions). My only wish is that the chipping mat had a higher tuft. It is very close-cropped which requires a decent amount of skill to get lift on the ball. I had some leftover remnants from artificial turf I installed at my home and the higher grass worked quite well. Anyone can do the same thing or purchase a small remnant or mat from a local DIY store or artificial turf company. Overall, this is a well-executed, durable, good value, and fun product.

Was not expecting such high build quality! This is going to be fun for year and years!
I had created a very detailed video of the unboxing of this item as well as all of the component but Amazon rejected the review for unknown reasons. So...here's my textual review - I'll try to be as thorough as the video was - sorry you had to miss it. This product is not cheaply made - every attention to detail, and durability, is preset here. The mat is a huge piece of closed cell foam of some kind - very similar to neoprene, if you're familiar. The foam part is about 5/8" thick. On top of the foam is high grade of artificial turf. The outside edge of said turf is slightly higher than the large interior to act as the fringe of the green and keep the balls rom rolling off too easily. The kit comes with this superbly made mat that I fully expect to last a decade or more, a small rubber disc that can be laid on the green for "closeted to the pin/hole" contests, a mat to hit from, rope for securing the mat to the middle of your pool, and 2 dozen very high quality floating golf balls. The golf balls deserve to be talked about here as I really thought these would be either solid plastic balls or better, yet still too light, foam practice balls, but these are neither. The golf balls are high quality hard foam balls encased in a plastic coating similar to a real golf ball. Sure, they are slightly lighter than the real thing, but heavy enough to have a natural ball flight and should handle windy days pretty well. The set comes with a full 2 dozen golf balls - each it's own color - and 2 mesh bags to store them in. I am very satisfied with this product and I fully expect to have it around for pool parties long in to the future.

Fun pool game
The materials are high quality--a heavy floating target mat, a smaller and lighter hitting mat, 48 hard foam balls that float (lighter than golf balls but heavier than soft foam) plus tie down ropes and mesh bags. All you need is a golf wedge club (a wedge gives the ball loft, if you use a putter or other club you'll have more trouble). It's pretty easy to get the ball on the mat, even if you allow the mat to float and it's windy. The hard part is not having the ball roll off. Getting good loft on the club (a 64-degree loft, the highest of standard golf clubs, is best--I used sandpaper on the head which is illegal in golf to get more backspin) is crucial. But you don't have to be good to have fun. I didn't find the listed games worked well. I liked having two teams each trying to be the first to get 12 balls on the target mat. Teams alternate four-ball attempts. It helps to have someone with a pool net constantly scooping up and returning balls that end up in the pool. Of course, some shots will knock other balls off the mat, so it can take quite a while for a team to win.

Novelty That Can Be Fun, But Feels Overpriced
My husband is a golf crazy cliche and was excited to try this floating, foam chipping green in our pool. It does float well, but, of course, moves a lot, even when wind is low. It comes with two ropes to secure on either side and you really need to do that, in order for this to be useful at all. It's relatively small, especially given the price point, making it fairly difficult, even for good golfers. It also comes with foam balls which, yes, do float but are basically impossible to hit cleanly, making them less useful as an actual training tool. (Real balls work fine, and the kids can dive in the pool for them when warmer, but right now we just scooped them out with a net.) All in all, it's not un-fun—even our kids gave it a go, and they don't play all that often—but it feels like a novelty game, not an actual golfing technique booster, and is way overpriced for that purpose. Plus while not super sizable as a target, it is awfully large to store. A quandary, I know.

Outstanding Floating Green. This thing is so much FUN!
I really like this floating putting green. It is so challenging and extremely fun. The green is very smooth and made from high-quality Astroturf. The rough is soft but a little longer and really helps stop the balls. Under the Astroturf there is a half inch thick rubber mat that helps this float. This green is lightweight and weighs about 20 pounds dry. It's very easy to put in and take out of the pool. There are two attachment points to tie a rope to so you can secure the green wherever you want in the pool. This chipping green comes with 48 balls; 24 yellow and 24 white. The balls are made of medium weight foam. They are soft enough to not hurt anyone or break any windows, but hard enough to fly great when you hit them. They float very nicely in the pool and do not sink. They are extremely easy to remove, as I just use my pool net. It comes with a very nice chipping mat made from Astroturf. This has a rubber pad on the bottom so it stays in place. It's very nice and will protect your clubs. The green also has a little white area that is like a sand trap. It looks really cool. When finished with the green it's very easy to remove from the pool and dries out rather quickly while sitting in the sun. I think this floating chipping green is a good value at the current price and I recommend it to friends and family. I can't wait to try it out on the Fourth of July when I have a crowd over.

Great Fun!!
This chipping green was very nicely made. It is the smaller of the two and if you have a small pool, you don't need the bigger one. Unless you are really bad at chipping. We enjoyed chipping the floating balls. We chose not to tie down the green but it does have holes in it and comes with rope. We kind of liked our target moving round a bit. This comes with a white round "disk" that can serve as a target on the grass. Beware! it doesn't float. If it is off season for swimming, and you drop it in the pool, you will have to fish it out off the bottom. Personally landing a ball on the green is target enough for me but if you are playing a game where being close matters, the target comes in handy. I am a little fearful of swinging the club because the piece of grass they give you for the club is just a little small for my comfort level being an armature golfer. I was afraid I'd hack the club on the pavement. If it were just a bit wider, I would have felt more comfortable. Overall this is really fun and my father enjoyed chipping onto the green. We look forward to playing again soon. I think this would be fun for the entire family who enjoy sports.
