Great quality and does exactly what it says it should
Very reliable, does exactly what it says it should. Waveshare has always been a safe bet for me, with many of their products.

Finaly a USB to RS232 adapter with real 12V out / input
The Waveshare is a USB to RS232 adapter with real 12V out / input. (Picture is the character f @9600 baud) I bought, plenty of adapters that used TTL output, or where not real rs232 adapters. The only downside of the Waveshare, it has only RX and TX. So no handshaking. But for my job this a good solution.

It just works!
Received, substituted for an existing other brand (working so I had inverter monitoring software setup ok) drivers loaded automagically and a change to the com port and still humming along 24/7. Nice having the switchable 120 Ohm resistor as I had to add it to the cheaper previous unit. This is as RS-485, I have no current need for RS-232 function atm but at this price I can use it for double duty if I want to.
