Nice light to gradually wake you up
Had this a little while now before writing review. This is a great click, the light starts from a soft red to a bright white light, which is nice to wake you up, the alarm is not to loud. Easy to set up and has lots of functionality, glad a bought it

Fantastic wake up light!
I spent ages reading reviews after my Phillips SmartSleep wake up clock suddenly stopped working after many many years of use. The Phillips one used to drive me mad because you canโt completely disable the sounds / radio. Neither of which I wanted. So every morning I had an annoying buzz as the untuned radio kicked in. I wanted a no frills wake up sunrise alarm and this is doing the job brilliantly. I compared lumens / lux on various models and this one goes brighter than the Phillips (and any others) which is noticeable at bedtime. Itโs much better and brighter for reading by and sorting the children out with. When you put the light on it goes from off to bright on only a few steps which is better than having to cycle through 20 shades if white with the Phillips one. The build is ever so slightly cheaper than the Phillips but itโs certainly not going to fall apart. If I hadnโt read the comments here, I wouldnโt have even said anything. Itโs still solid and firm! I prefer the clicky buttons to know Iโve pressed them. The Lumie lamp also taking up just a fraction of the space on my bedside table. The Phillips is huge and bulky. I struggled to pick it up as itโs a two handed job. This is so much neater and easy to pick up. I love the niche underneath to store excess cable too, I thought it would maybe the smaller size and different shape make a difference to the light quality but it hasnโt. Phillips claim the shape helps with theirs. But this is much brighter so feels better anyway. The buttons are far better situated on the front. The Phillips, even after years of use, was still a fumble every morning to try to hit the correct button. My 13 year old had this plugged in and programmed by the time I got upstairs! Very easy. Very intuitive. The only downside compared to the Phillips is you have to set the alarm every night (the Phillips could be left on alarm mode) but the flip side is I donโt need to remember to turn it off on weekends. Itโs also simpler to change the time eg for weekends or holidays. The Phillips one always took time to get the correct programme. I tend to set the alarm in a morning so itโs on already for the next day. Itโs one simple press of an obvious button. Unlike fumbling on the Phillips! I like the nightlight feature too - something not on my old one. I donโt generally need it but if a child is unwell then I can see it being very useful instead of having to leave the hall light on. Iโm getting used to the red colour of sunset but I like it. Iโm falling asleep faster. I did wonder if I would regret not getting another Phillips sunrise clock but no way! I prefer the Lumie by a long way. I didnโt need noises and radio so I saved a lot of money too. Whether it lasts as long as my Phillips clock remains to be seen. Right now Iโm very happy. I made my choice based on the reviews along with my own experience and got a better product for less.

An absolute miracle for someone who cannot get up in the mornings!
A little background first, I am terrible at getting up in the mornings, just terrible......weirdly during all of the lockdowns I did manage to get up early and go out for a run most days but somehow I got out of the habit, so I was really looking for something that would help be get up early again. I looked through a lot of the Lumie lamps and there were mixed reviews on all of them (even the pricier ones) but this one seemed to have the main thing I was looking for which was a sunrise alarm where I could just use the light option without have a sound option as well. So out of the box it was quite simple to setup although I did need to refer to the instructions for setting the alarm, its not very bulky either, looks nice and is actually a good replacement for my bedside lamp. After setting it up it has probably taken about 10 days to adjust to bring woken up gradually by the light, but I am pleased to report that I am now back to getting up early again, with hardly any groggyness and I feel much more alert during the day too! My only gripe (which I knew about when I purchased this) and the reason for not giving 5 stars, is that you have to set the alarm every day, I've forgotten a couple of times but I mostly remember to do it. But other than that, at this price point it's pretty damn good. I am a Lumie convert now!

Great Wake-Up Light, But Lacks Pre-Recorded Sounds
The Lumie Bodyclock Spark 100 is an excellent wake-up light, and Iโve been really impressed with how it improves my morning routine. The gradual sunrise simulation is a brilliant feature, slowly filling the room with light to gently wake you up, which feels so much more natural than a harsh alarm. Itโs helped me feel more refreshed in the mornings, especially during darker winter months. The sunset feature is just as great for winding down in the evenings, gradually dimming the light to help me fall asleep more easily. What I love most is how well the light mimics natural daylight, and its simplicity is actually a big part of its charm. There's no complex setup or unnecessary featuresโjust a well-designed, effective alarm clock. It's ideal for anyone who struggles with traditional alarms and prefers a more soothing wake-up experience. The design is sleek, fits nicely on my bedside table, and blends well with my roomโs decor. However, for the price, I do wish it came with some pre-recorded sounds to accompany the light. For a high-end product like this, it seems like a missed opportunity. Itโs a minor letdown, but considering everything else this clock does, itโs something Iโm willing to overlook. A few nature sounds or gentle alarm tones would have been the icing on the cake. Overall, itโs a fantastic product that does exactly what itโs meant toโwakes you up in a calm, pleasant way. If pre-recorded sounds arenโt a deal-breaker for you, this wake-up light is nearly perfect!

A really good wake-up light
Having gone deaf, alarms that use sound aren't any good to me. I've had a wake-up light before from Phillips but I actually prefer my Lumie one, and here's why: 1. You can turn off the sound, which might be good for some hearing people. This model of Lumie light has an *optional* beep, but you can turn it to zero when you set the alarm. More expensive Lumie models have background sounds like mountain streams, goats, etc, but this one doesn't. The sound on my old Phillips one couldn't be turned off, and (back when I could hear it!), was rudely awoken by what sounded like a gong and a furious baboon. 2. You can turn off the clock display. If you want complete darkness in your room at night, or you find seeing the time annoying if you're struggling to sleep, this is a great setting. Once it's turned off, you just need to tap the light for the clock to show for a couple of seconds. It'll also display if you put something down next to the light! But that's not a big problem. 3. You can change the brightness of the clock display. An option if you don't want to turn off the display completely but don't want to have the time seered into your eyeballs. 4. The wake-up time is set at half an hour. So if you set your alarm for 7 am the light starts to glow from 6.30 am. More expensive Lumies (and maybe cheaper ones from other brands) give you a selection of wake-up periods (eg. 15, 30, or 45 minutes), but I find 30 minutes perfectly fine for me. 5. It has a sunset setting. So if you want to be lulled to sleep with the room slowly darkening, this would be great for you. Again, this is set at 30 minutes. 6. You can use it as a bedside light. Just use the plus button to turn it on, and minus to turn off (you'll need to press them several times as it goes through the phases of the sunrise/sunset cycles. 7. It's fairly easy to use. Just read the manual first, and it'll all make a lot of sense!

Functions well with minor design flaw
After using a cheap similar product for almost 2 years and now upgrading to this one, all I want to say is why did I not invest in this earlier. I can clearly see why it's more expensive and it's totally worth it. Compared with the cheaper alternative I had, this one is significantly brighter in the highest setting, has a much more pleasant and sophisticated light hue and intensity to the eyes in real life that cannot be reflected in photo's, and looks much more pleasant on the bedside table. The light that mimics the dawn really gets me sleepy and calm and makes me fall asleep in no time---I wasn't even using the sunset function; just set the light to a low intensity that's slightly reddish/orangish which gives such a pleasant and soothing feeling. In the morning as it goes all the way to the brightest intensity (I set it to the highest, you can set it to any level you want) that is much brighter than the cheaper alternative, I feel uplifted and ready to start the day. This is the best model for me as I need a silent alarm light, so the ones with fancy sounds and radio function actually put me off. Beep sound is still optional on this model which I never use. Now, two design flaws: 1. it's not obvious where to press if I want to turn it on in the dark, as I cannot see the buttons. But this can be overcome by getting familiar with the button positions like muscle memory when playing the piano. 2. When setting alarm clock in the eve for the next morning, you have to go through all the procedures: set time; set maximum light intensity; set sound(or no sound) of the beep. This means when I'm ready to go to sleep, I'll be exposed to the highest intensity light for about half a second when going through the setting procedure. This really isn't necessary and should have been designed better, as the last thing I need at late night is high intensity light. Overall happy. Definitely get this one instead of the cheap ones no matter how good the reviews are.

Much nicer light than the cheap alternatives
I had purchased another light before for ยฃ30 off Amazon. It was one of those cylinder yokes with a really shiny finish. I just didn't think I wanted to pay ยฃ80 for an alarm but in hindsight I should've gone for Lumie right away. The light looks much nicer in the room. I like the matte look of the light cover. The light is much nicer than the cheaper product I used before and it actually changes brightness much smoother. It's easy to set up and I like that the time turns of automatically at night (if you chose that setting). Personally, I don't use the Alarm tone but I could see how people may be looking for alternative sounds such as forest sounds, birds etc. The cheaper light I had before had that option, this Lumie does not as far as I can tell. Either way, the light makes waking up a much nicer experience. I tend to set an alarm a few minutes after Lumie reaches peak brightness just to make sure I get up. In 90% of the cases I'm up already. I really enjoy it. It's quite pricey but I think you certainly see the quality difference over a cheap light.

Good daylight alarm clock. Not the most user-friendly.
Good clock and good level of brightness. Itโs a little bit confusing to set up and you have to click to make sure the alarm is on each night for the morning. Itโs a shame you also cannot change the alarm sound but otherwise if you want a daylight waking alarm clock this does a good job.
