Uniquely informative and entertaining DVD
Thought this DVD was excellant - both informative and stangely entertaining. It has an amazingly comprehensive catalogue of marine life - I don't like to think how long it took to get footage of all the different species. We've found it both useful to ID fish (it has common and scientific names and an easy to use menu system)and as a teaching aid. It's also more entertaining than flicking through a book and gives you a better idea of what the fish looks like and how it moves, than looking at a single picture. We leave it running on the TV and find people watch it for ages - either looking for things they've seen, increasing their knowledge of the amazing marine life in the area or just for entertainment value. The footage quality is excellant and the whale and hairy ghost pipefish stuff is amazing. We've found this DVD really useful. While a lot of books cover the fish ID area I don't think there is another DVD with the same aim. I hope they extend this product into other areas of the pacific. Really can't think of anything bad to say about it.
