I like it, a lot!!
I love this pen! Fits well in my hand, clips well to my shirt and jean pockets. And though I didn't order it for writing purposes, I must admit it also writes well. Smooth across the paper. It is durable and strong. Has a good weight in your hands. It's also sleek, and smooth. That can be a plus and a minus. Hopefully not a minus should it have to be used for protection. But for now, with everything I'm slicing open with it, it is a plus. I would def reorder.

Good pen, sad story.
Very nice pen. Time of ownership was pretty short as the clip on the pen could not overcome the wind on a motorcycle ride and it blew right out of my pocket. Pen is very well built, very stout, and looks great. Sad for me I the pen no longer.

Fantastically discreet, but a mediocre pen
The tac pen I’ve carried for years was discontinued and I needed a new one. This one looked promising. My criteria are fairly tricky. First and foremost the pen needs to be completely discreet. I travel regularly and the pen needs to be able to pass TSA, for instance. (Pro tip: open it up like you were writing with it and clip it in a magazine or notebook when you run it through the x-ray.) Some pens look more like weapons than pens and that’s a dealbreaker for me. Second, it needs to run the Fisher space pen refills. I write a *ton* and need the pen to write spectacularly so my hand doesn’t wear out constantly. And third, (although this one’s a bit flexible) I’d prefer that the pen doesn’t have a carbide tip. I don’t expect to need to hit metal, but if I end up using my pen to defend myself or family then I’d like to not have to worry whether my strike could cause my pen tip to become shrapnel. This pen looked like a pretty good option for me. Although it has a carbide tip the other two requirements were beautifully fulfilled. …or at least I assumed they were. See, this pen kinda stinks at being a pen. When you remove the cap to write, your instinct is going to be to put the cap on the carbide end opposite the pen tip, obviously. The problem is that there’s no rubber washer or bumper to hold the cap in place. While the cap does fit well enough to stay on while you write, the moment you set the pen down the cap will fall off loosely. Your best option is to clip the cap back onto yourself while you write, which leaves you with a significantly less-discreet pen to write with. Will I replace this with something else? Ehhh, *probably* not. …but I gifted several copies of the last pen I carried and was responsible for several more being sold, and I’m not going to recommend this pen to anyone.

Amazing pen and weapon in plain sight
The pen comes in really nice packaging with one ink cartridge in the pen and a second one in the box. The pen is made of of Steel and on one end is a Tungsten Carbide point, apparently it's for busting through windows. I haven't had the chance to test it out, but I am sure this would also make a excellent stabbing weapon. At least within its limitations. In order to write with this pen, you have to unscrew the cap so you can write. The tungsten tip is always exposed. The pen has good half without it being too heavy. And it looks pretty slick too. The only thing I didn't like is that it could use a bit more texture on the grip area. The pocket clip is very sturdy. They perform as well even rite in the rain notepads, with the ink cartridges that it comes with. Very premium looking and feeling pen for not a lot of money. I have no doubt that the tungsten tip would have no problems going through windows or Perforating the skin of an attacker.

Recommend
Have had this tactical pen for about 5 years and have brought it all around the country and internationally for safety. It’s gone through TSA various times without detections and I’m assuming because it looks most closely to an actual pen rather than other tactical pens that have more gadgets. It’s a good size, and very sturdy. Haven’t actually tested it out on glass but feels pretty sharp.

Cap does not post when writing
One of the biggest reasons for purchasing this pen is for its "under the radar" appearance - meaning that you should be able to carry this with you everywhere without attracting suspicion or curious looks. Most other tactical pens have that "mall ninja tacticool LARPer" look - this one doesn't. However, for an EDC item, the mere fact that the pen cap does not post (i.e. attach to the end when using it to write) moves this pen from "under the radar" to "on the radar." In its standard carry configuration, the cap is screwed on and thus protects the ink end, leaving the tungsten carbide tip exposed. In this configuration, from even just a few feet away, it looks like a normal pen. If, however, you were in public and needed to sign something, you could not simply remove the cap and post it on the end over the tungsten carbide tip - you would in fact have to leave that tip exposed. Most normal pens do not look like that, and the inability to conceal that "look" would make most people do a second take and realize that you are using a tactical pen. Not only that, you now have the (albeit "first world") problem of having to deal with the pen cap. Simply placing it on the writing surface would make most people on some level go "Hmmm...why doesn't he just put that cap on the end of his pen like most people? Oh, wait, that's not a pen, that's...that's a MALL-NINJA LARPer!!!" That's my biggest gripe about this pen. As far as writing goes, without the posted pen cap, the pen is just long enough to fit comfortably in my hands. The ink cartridge writes well (comparable to your standard Bic ballpoint pen), and your order comes with two cartridges - one in the pen and one spare in the box. The shape of the pen makes it comfortable to hold, and the weight is just right - not too heavy, not too light - just enough heft to balance out the smoothness so that the pen doesn't slip and roll in your fingers as you're writing. The clip is removable if that's how you want to roll. The pen cap itself screws onto the pen side, which I think is a nice touch for two reasons: 1) fancy fountain pens have caps that screw on, so having to unscrew the cap makes people think you have an expensive, fancy pen; and 2) if you are using it in a tactical sense, the cap is unlikely to pop off and cause the pen end to stab into your hands. As much as I would love to test out the glass breaker on my neighbor's teenage son's hoopdy Honda Civic with a spoiler, I'm not going to, nor am I going to attempt to bust up some scrap wood or anything. Upon simply holding it and eyeballing it, you can tell that it is a quality piece of work. All of the parts fit together perfectly - there's no wiggling or looseness about it. Let's be real - the odds of you needing to use this as a glass breaker or as a self-defense tool are extremely low, but the odds of you using this as a pen are pretty much 100%. If you use this pen in public, you absolutely will expose to the world that you have a tactical pen, which eliminates one of the largest selling points of this pen, that of flying "under the radar." Atomic Bear - if you can make a Rebel 2.0 in which the pen cap posts, I will buy it for myself, as gifts for others, and recommend it highly to others. But for now, in its current configuration, it is not effective. If the pen cap would post, this would have 5 stars because it would truly be an EDC "under the radar" pen. But if I can only use it as a pen in private, then that removes a good part of its utility. Quality, craftsmanship, etc. are all top notch. But IMHO, an EDC tactical pen needs to be under the radar in all situations, public and private, hence the 3 stars.

2 Strongest Selling Points: Inexpensive and Unobtrusive Looks
This pen is a great value and is one of the few pens that I found that don't look overly "tacti-cool." You can use this pen in any environment and get nary a question about its functioning as a self-defense or emergency tool. The two most important features in a tactical pen are present: an exposed, ready-to-go striking tip, and a flat end opposite that end, for thumb placement = additional power. The muted gray color, minimal machining for a ribbed or textured grip, and a "normal sized" pocket clip help this pen look more like a pen than a weapon. The instrument feels solid if not beefy, and writes well. My only complaints are that the screw-off cap doesn't click or even screw onto the other end for storage while writing, and there are logos on two sides of the barrel - no logos would add to the "under the radar" look. Minor flaws aside, this is the pen that I recommend to my clients if what is called for is a tactical pen that doesn't at all look threatening.

Klasse

Overall very solid pick for a tactical pen
Well built, light, flies under the radar, good pocket clip, tungsten tip window breaker, and a flat end that allows for a very comfortable and solid ice-pick style grip. It comes in a very nice little gift box, with an extra ink cartridge. You can register online for a life-time warranty and free online lessons on how to use the pen. If I were to point out 2 small weaknesses: 1- The finish on the pen makes it somewhat slick with moist hands i.e. there are no ridges or knurling (this is only really an issue if you try to hold the pen in a fencing type of hold and 2- There is no real way to secure the screw cap to the other end of the pen when you need to use the thing to actually write. IMO, you cannot get any better pen than this for 25$. In fact, this pen is probably better than some of the more expensive options out there.

Seems to be very well made
Pen looks surprisingly good quality for the price and comes in a nice presentation / gift box with instructions inside and a URL for free training on how to use it. The pen itself feels solid and definitely up to the task. The screw on cap (when pen is in glass-breaker mode) is great and has a solid feel, much better than the click on variety of other pens. Overall, this pen looks like a normal pen from a foot away, so definitely has that "undercover" factor going for it too and does not scream "I'm a tacticool pen, everybody!". This can only be a good thing in any realistic circumstance. I will be buying several more for friends and family, these pens will make great and practical gifts. Very satisfied with the purchase!

Das Dung ist klasse! Ein brauchbarer Kugelschreiber und eine unauffällige Möglichkeit sich selbst zu verteidigen. Ein echter Meinungsverstärker!

great
From an appearance standpoint, this passes as a pen. Which is good for clearing security checkpoints and not seeing like a threat to anyone. Otherwise, the business end of this thing is sturdy and seems like it will do the trick. But I would say it's useless as an actual pen but that's how these things usually go. It's not really meant to be a writing implement, after all.
