I'm extremely disappointed with this battery's performance. Despite being installed by a certified Apple repairer, it fails to hold a charge. I regret not having it installed sooner, as I would have been eligible for a refund. I strongly advise against purchasing this battery, as it's utterly unreliable.

Worked well on my laptop, now my laptop can be used unplugged as the charge holds like it did, when it was new.

I am actually very impressed with this and how easy it was! I have had my Mac since it was released 5 years ago, and it went from great battery life to a lot less. I think it was down to like 78 percent max capacity. The instructions were very specific and clear, and they explained every single step from start to finish. They even showed images of every individual step as well. The hardest part of the installation was removing the old battery from the device because it was attached with a super strong adhesive. I made the mistake of using a small metal screwdriver that made the battery spark. It was terrifying, but didn’t do any damage, luckily. Once the installation was complete, I was seriously so relieved when it began powering back on. The first thing I did was go into settings to check the maximum capacity of the new battery. 100 percent! This kit is awesome and saves a LOT of money. This is about 1/5th the price of what they charge at the store. It really isn’t difficult to DIY. You basically need to know how to use a screwdriver. Definitely worth it.

Battery works well, and has restored my MacBook Pro to a healthy state. The installation process is not easy at all, but that is not the battery manufacture's fault, it's Apple's. Getting the old battery out is not for the faint of heart. My only complaint is that the instructions get a little vague at times. Overall, if you are brave and don't mind a challenge, then this kit can restore your battery life.

Comes with a thorough instruction booklet with full color pictures. Intermediate difficulty installation, on par with changing any other lithium ion battery but high stakes working on a $1300 computer. Wouldn't do this as my first repair. I watched a few videos. It took me about 2.75 hours from taking out the first screw to closing. I took out the trackpad because I used rubbing alcohol to remove the battery adhesive. The hardest parts are breaking up the adhesive and reconnecting the pins that connect the laptop to the battery. The kit technically comes with everything that you'll need but it would be easier with a few other things: -Rubbing alcohol and dropper or small spoon for removing adhesive -Tweezers for reconnecting pins -Magnetic bowl for screws - can also stick them in included packaging foam Value is about average compared to competitors, although much better than paying $249 to get an official replacement and service. Note that changing the battery got rid of the "battery service recommended" notification even though it's not Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). Performance and battery life feels like the original battery although we'll see how well it holds up to gaming. Will update if it fizzles out. Note gloves are XL or XXL which is too big for precise work for anyone with small hands.

I installed, removed, and reinstalled five times, and the battery is slightly too thick, so it presses against the trackpad. The thickness of the battery causes the trackpad to go crazy. I ended up having to do troubleshooting for almost 6 hours before realizing this is not going to work I ended up having to take it into a computer repair store and they were able to fix it appropriately. Extremely disappointed in this product. What a waste of money and money time. Also, the phone number listed for customer support does not work, and the email address never responded.

I bought this battery for MacBook Pro Model A1708. The battery came with all necessary tools. The battery holds a charge very well—comparable to when the MacBook was new. It is perfect for my daily tasks. If your A1708 MacBook Pro is showing signs of service recommended this replacement is definitely worth it. Very satisfied with the performance and value.

If you have large fingers and hands like I do, the installation is challenging but not impossible. The instructions are a bit sparse particularly after removing the old battery. The tools work well except for the suction cup which is not useful. Most of the videos I watched take you through the removal but that's the part that's easiest. Improve the instructions perhaps with closeup pictures and this is a 5 star.

My macbook showed up the warning sign of the battery and i started to notice that battery runs down quickly. I know how to fix phones, tablets and laptops… and its a good battery to use.

Bought the battery as a replacement for my MBP 2017 A1708, which has almost 1000 cycles on it and is not holding the charge well. I like the packaging and that the most needed tools are provided for replacement. After installing the battery, I noticed that the small logic board that comes with the battery has less-than-ideal soldering that makes the rigid cables that attach to it stick outwards. Luckily, it did not prevent the backplate from closing fully, but the fit is much tighter than with the original battery (may be the case because of the increased battery thickness too). Another thing that surprised me in a negative way was that the first boot was not possible as the battery was fully discharged and required a power brick to start.. We all know that storing the battery deeply discharged may (and will) damage it, and I was not happy about it. The first thing that I did after was charge the laptop to 100%, and then I started to use it normally. Aaaand at about 40% of charge, the laptop just shut off with a "discharged" icon again, same as with the first boot. It upset me a lot since this is definitely not the way how a brand new battery should perform (my old battery shut off at about 20%).. What I did next was try to see how long the battery lasts after it has been charged to 100%, and I learned that it lasts about 4 hours with a light load (browsing) until it shuts off completely. Given that the seller states it has 5800mAh capacity (which is roughly 20% larger that the original), the actual performance is 2 times worse than with the original battery - it should work at least 8 hours on a single charge with a light load, but here we are.. Is it due to the battery damage due to the incorrect storage or just poor quality? - I do not know, but I would think twice before buying it, since the performance it provides is on par with a 1000-cycle original battery that I "replaced".
