If you need a high-quality recording pen, look no further!
I recently purchased the ZIPCIDE 64GB Digital Voice Recorder and I couldn't be more impressed. This pen is a fantastic recording tool! I have multiple meetings daily and always attempt to take detailed notes. This pen has come to my rescue in reviewing my meetings and generating minutes or notes and actions. It looks like a standard pen (see pictures) and is comfortable to hold. I really appreciate that it comes with extra ink, which should last for over a year. The audio quality is crystal clear, picking up voices even in a crowded room. The voice-activated function is a game changer. During my meetings, it starts recording only when it detects sound, which saves so much space and reduces the need for constant recharging. It comes with 64GB of storage, which is more than enough for a week's worth of recordings. I love that it's compact, lightweight, and super easy to operate. You get everything you need to get started in the box: the pen recorder, 64 GB TF card, headphones, micro-USB cable, controller, 5 replacement refills, screwdriver, and manual. I have found this pen recorder to be truly versatile and invaluable during my daily meetings. I highly recommend it!

Great and nice ink
This works perfectly. Try to test it a few times before you need it. It works well for meetings and keeping voice notes. I only wish they had blue ink!

Simple, one-button recording... worth it.
Works great. Compact. Makes nice clear recordings. Charge seems to last forever. I bought this primarily because you can easily start a recording with one button flick. No menus or multiple buttons needed. It's great for recording those deep thoughts and ideas that you have when between wakefulness and sleep - so you can laugh at them later.

Dwight Schrute Approved, but...
I bought this to use at work as a news reporter, because I get tired of juggling multiple things to interviews and thought the combined function of a recorder in my pen was genius, if a bit nerdy. (my son made fun of it, saying it was totally something Dwight Schrute would use, lol) It works well, picks up sound very clearly once you figure out how to use it. The instructions that come with it are basically useless because they are written in English by a non-English-speaking person, so are not very coherent. But I fumbled around with it until I figured it out. The main drawback is it is difficult to know when it is recording, and when it is not. You have to count the times it blinks to know which function it is in, and of course have to memorize which function has how many blinks to it, so that can be a problem when you're in a hurry, or in a setting that is bright (like outdoors) I basically now use it for short interviews where, if it's not actually recording, it's not catastrophic because I have enough info in my notes. For those needing a reliable device with clear indicators as to its mode of functioning... probably better keep looking.

TINY but mighty convenient
Super long battery PIN protection. Easy to use toggle switch to record/ playback, or end recording

Discrete with good quality recording
First and foremost, I was completely surprised at how good the recording quality was on this pen. I expected it to be audible, but not great...I was wrong. As a pen, it's a little top-heavy (to be expected I suppose), which made my writing a little less neat. That said, it wrote smoothly and the ink didn't smear (which as a lefty is nice). I was really close to giving this a 5-star, but the build quality is just a little less than a 5. Specifically, you have to take the pen apart to access the charging port, SD card, etc., which is no big deal; however the smoothness of the two pieces going together was lacking a bit. Deal breaker? Not by any means, but it just plants the tiniest of seeds that maybe it won't last forever. Maybe it's a nit pick, maybe not. All in all though, it was a really close call between a 4 and 5.

Don't buy this. Poor sound quality. File Explorer does not want to recognize the device.
The sound quality is awful. It generates .wav files with 4 bits per sample. While it is audible and a loud source (nearby) can be understood, the signal to noise ratio (SNR) is terrible for someone across a table. The SNR is theoretically 24dB for a loud signal and 18dB for signals half of the max level -typical sounds. 8 bits per sample would have been acceptable (48-24dB SNR) in a lot of situations. 8 bits that have been companded (take the logarithm of each 13 bit linear sample to get an 8 bit result) provides a fairly flat 40dB SNR over a large range of volume. Companding was developed in the 1970's for the then new digital systems to carry phone calls. It is extremely simple. There is no patent so it is free. When I connect the pen to my PC, it will charge, but File Explorer often does not recognize it as a flash drive. It seems to work about every 5th time I connect the pen to the PC. I have tried different USB cables and different ports on the PC. I can take the micro SD card out of the pen and install it in my PC to access files. The recorder is not fully compatible with the USB standard. The written English instructions are bad, but with some imagination, I kind of get what it is trying to say. We have all seen worse: "Press and hold the recording button and then power on." It means to press and hold the button (the only button on the device) for 3 seconds to turn on the device and start recording. "To pause your recording, one time press the record button, and a red light will pop up; To continue recording, one time the record button and the red light will go off." Heavy sigh... The manual includes a warning against using high power USB chargers. The only thing I can imagine that could cause a problem is voltage overshoot caused by a load change as the device is plugged in which is normally very small. If the recorder is that fragile, a special charger should have been included with the device.

Not useful
It's a very simple recording device. I bought it based on the reviews, but I had to return it right away. It's not useful at all.

Small, discrete and performing well
I got this device to record my class lectures and work presentations, and it works perfectly so far. It’s compact and performs well. With a 64GB storage capacity, it offers plenty of space for recordings, and the battery will last for up to 24h so plenty of recording time. The quality of recording is pretty descent especially for the size. Despite its size it feel strong as apart for the buttons and the screen it is all made of metal. One feature I find very useful and apricate is the voice activation. It eliminates long stretches of silence during recordings, saving time when listening back or transcribing. The controls are easy to understand and well-design to the device’s small size. The colour digital screen is sharp, easy to read, and the menu navigation is intuitive, making it simple to operate even for first-time users. This recorder is powered by a rechargeable internal battery, and with the included USB-C cable, it charges efficiently. A full charge provides up to 24 hours of continuous recording, which is fantastic for extended sessions. Other handy features include password protection to keep you recording secure in case you loose it, variable play speeds, an A-B repeat function, MP3 playback (but I would probably never listen music with it), a screensaver, and one-touch delete, among others. Included in the box you have a USB C charging cable, a headphone and adaptor to connect the headphone. Overall, this is a well-designed and discreet recording device packed with useful functions. I’d definitely recommend it!

5* Clear sound, compact and great value
A lovely compact unit, which arrived well boxed and in a protective tray, along with a USB connection cable and a pair of plug-in earphones. The unit is nicely made with all the controls working with a positive movement. It’s small enough to keep in a pocket, and fits comfortably in the hand, so available to take notes at any time. Sound recording quality is clear and loud, and playback volume can be adjusted with a rocker control on the side. The screen is illuminated so it can be read in low light. It’s versatile, very easy to use, and ideal for writers, students or those who need to take notes on the move. Some nice features are: One press recording Multiple recording formats: MP3, WAV, etc. Power on password protection The headphones included in the set are very basic. It would be great if Bluetooth headphones could be connected, and it would also be helpful if a lanyard could be attached, but these are minor points, which would no doubt increase the very competitive price point of the recorder. However, one thing that could be done is to increase the point size of the minuscule text in the instruction leaflet! That all said, I’m very pleased with the performance of this recorder. It’s great value, well-made for the price, easy to use and works equally as well as recorders costing considerably more. Recommended.

Small, compact, and capable.
I do not typically write reviews but I felt compelled to do so for this device. I was trying to find a discreet, compact, and easy to use recording device for work. I do not require a recording device for fine measurements or sensitive scientific research. If you are in a professional environment or are dealing with clients or colleagues where instruction must be executed properly, this will definitely have you covered. The photos are a little misleading. I thought it would be much larger than it actually is. The device is about the length of my index finger and only slightly thicker. It fits perfectly into a button up shirt or suit jacket pocket. It picks up sound very well and you can hear the conversation clearly enough considering the price range. Recording quality is maybe a 7/10 but when you factor the price it's a 10/10. If you want to record a phone call however, it would need to be on speaker. For those reviews that mentioned it felt cheap or fragile, I would argue otherwise. It has a good weight to it making it feel sturdy. I am in a technical field and my professional opinion is that the housing/casing is well made with great fitment having minimal gaps. You can squeeze and twist the unit without body creaks or flex. The plastic feels stiff and sturdy. The buttons and switches are also very tactile and responsive. I was a little concerned when some reviews stated that it could not record for the period of time advertised. I used the device for the first time upon arrival and it lasted my full 9 hour day. It had approximately 80% battery life when I plugged it in for charging with it completing its charge in 15 minutes. The device did not continuously record for 9 hours. However, it would seem that it is sound activated. If left "on" it will record when it picks up a sound or conversation. If it can pick up and catch conversations with accuracy, this is actually ideal as it splices the recordings into smaller files for easier review. I will continue to monitor how well it does this but for the price it has been impressive so far.
