Dependable until the built-in battery lasts.
This line of Cyber Power UPS works for about 5 years. After that the internal battery is unable to ride it through power surges. So long as you know that, it is a relatively inexpensive protection for all your computer stuff.

Good badic UPS
Seems to be a quality unit...I needed a higher capacity for my old Windows home server and one other PC. Plenty of outlets. My only rub is the UPS software doesn't seem to run on my ancient WHS. Right now, it's not configured to shut down the server, but at least short outages should be easily handled. Also, it was reasonably priced and compact sized.

Great UPS!!!
I bought the Amazon Basics UPS Battery Backup and Surge Protector, 600VA/360W, and so far it has been working great. It feels solid, is compact, and gives me extra peace of mind for keeping my electronics protected during power outages or short power flickers. I also have another one of these units, and so far so good with that one as well. I have even simulated power outages to test it, and everything worked great. Setup was simple, the outlets are useful, and it does exactly what I needed it to do. Overall, I am happy with this purchase. If anything fails or I run into any problems later, I will come back and update this review.

Battery dies within 30 days - Very common for this product
I never gave a 1 before, bt this product quite simply has a long history of failure. I researched it on ChatGPT, Claude & Gemini. The battery fails within a month & then it is rendered useless. Do not buy this product. Spend the money to buy a proper UPS: If your Amazon Basics UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector (400VA/255W) isnโt holding power when the electricity goes out, it means the unit isnโt supplying backup power as it should. There are several possible reasons โ some simple to fix, and others that indicate a hardware limitation or failure. Here are the most common causes and what you can check: โ 1. Battery Is Dead or Bad The most frequent cause of a UPS not holding power is a worn-out or failed internal battery. Why this happens UPS batteries are sealed lead-acid (SLA) and wear out over time (usually 3โ5 years). If the UPS was stored discharged for a long time, the battery may be permanently damaged. Even new units can have a defective battery. What to check Press the power/test button โ does it beep or indicate battery status? Some models flash an error code if the battery is bad. If available, check the battery replacement indicator. Solution: Replace the UPS battery (if the model allows it). For this Amazon Basics unit, replacement batteries are typically inexpensive and the case can open to swap the battery. โ 2. UPS Was Never Fully Charged If the UPS wasnโt charged long enough before use: It may not have stored enough energy. New units usually need several hours of charge before first use. Solution: Plug it in and let it charge overnight (8โ12 hours), then test again. โ 3. Load Too High for the UPS Capacity A 400VA/255W UPS is relatively low power โ it can handle: A small desktop computer A router/modem A few peripherals โฆ but not high-power devices like: Large monitors Gaming PCs Laser printers Space heaters If the connected load exceeds 255W, the UPS may instantly go into overload protection and drop power. Solution: Reduce the load: Unplug everything except a single device. Test if it still fails. โ 4. UPS Is Old or Stored Without Power If the UPS wasnโt used for a long time: The internal battery sulfates and canโt hold charge. Some UPS units lock out battery use after long idle periods. Solution: Recharge it fully and test battery with reduced load โ if still no backup time, the battery likely needs replacement. โ 5. The Unit Is Defective Sometimes UPS units have internal failures: Faulty battery charger circuit Bad connection between battery and electronics Internal fuse blown Signs of this: No lights or beeps on battery test UPS immediately shuts off when unplugged Strange behavior like rapid blinking Solution: If under warranty, contact Amazon for a return/replacement. โ 6. Surge Only Outlets vs. Battery Backup Outlets Some UPS units have two types of outlets: Battery Backup + Surge Protection Surge Protection Only If you plugged devices into the surge-only outlets, they wonโt receive backup power when the power fails. Check: On the unit label, make sure your devices are plugged into the battery backup outlets, not the surge-only ones. Quick Troubleshooting Checklist โ Make sure device is plugged into the battery-backup outlets โ Let it charge for 8โ12 hours โ Disconnect excess load โ try just one device โ Press power/test button for status indication โ If still not working โ likely battery replacement needed When to Replace the Battery Typical UPS batteries (sealed lead-acid) need replacement every 3โ5 years. For this Amazon Basics model, replacing the battery is usually possible โ the battery inside is a standard size and can be swapped. If you want, tell me: ๐น What devices are plugged into the UPS ๐น How old the UPS is ๐น What the UPS lights/indicators show when the power fails โฆand I can help you diagnose the problem more precisely.

Not bad for the money but no replacement battery available on Amazon
This review is being written four and a half years after my original purchase. I'm not sure how you would write a review prior to the death of the ups. This unit has no display and I was not looking for one. It fit my usage needs perfectly as I simply wanted to power the cable box behind my television which is installed in recessed Cabinetry where all power connectors inside the Cabinetry and very hard to reach. I live where power is interrupted one to two times per month and as you know cable boxes take a significant period of time to reboot. I have a generator but I have it set for 45 seconds to kick in. This UPS served us perfectly for four and a half years. It kept the television on and the cable box on for that 45 seconds. It did start to beep as soon as we lost power. It's nice to know that it was working. Others have stated that it could not Auto reset once the power came back on. That is not my experience. Once the generator kicked in or the street kicked back on the UPS reset itself perfectly. All that being said the battery is now dead. It is now my search for a replacement battery that is leading me to only get this unit 4 stars. Typically, on all my other UPS's, I would simply open it up take the model number off the battery and search Amazon for the replacement. I've done that with this one but no such battery replacement exists on Amazon. To be clear, the battery inside my "Amazon Basics UPS Battery Backup & Surge Protector, 400VA/255W, 6 Outlets, Uninterruptible Power Supply, Small Compact Size, Black" is a Leoch cps3.6-12(12v2.9ah). Finding this battery has become extremely difficult period even my local Electrical Supply Warehouse does not have a battery of this size with capacities and terminal connections being the same or similar. Because of this I will need to purchase I need ups at this time. Somewhat disappointing but after four and a half years I guess it's not that bad. As you can see in the images I did try to buy a replacement battery that others had stated it would fit. I bought this prior to digging it out of the Cabinetry it was in. As you can see it definitely did not fit. I've provided images of the actual battery in the unit, the battery removed with make and model showing, and measurements of the terminals. I forgot the state that the form factor on this is perfect. I do have a few of these including one of them mounted underneath a desk. For the same reason as stated above I would not want the computer to lose power immediately as that really messes up the computer. That one is still working just fine. But, I'm going to keep it close eye on it because I suspect it's about ready to go.

reliable and convenient
This UPS is a reliable, budget-friendly option for keeping essential devices running during short power outages. It provides enough backup time for things like routers and small electronics, and the multiple outlets make it easy to protect several devices at once. The compact design is convenient for tight spaces, though itโs best suited for lighter loads rather than high-power equipment.

good if you need protection against power outages for a short period of time
i built a PC and i work from home, staying connected to the internet at all times is very important fore me. more importantly is making sure that my PC stays on and does not randomly shut off at any moment, causing me to lose all unsaved work this product helps protect against that from happening unlike a laptop that has a built in battery, a PC does not, so if your home power goes out, that's it. it's game over. your entire PC shuts down with your power, no running off battery, no nothing however, if you plug your PC into this product, then if your power goes out, you're pretty much safe. at least for 5-10 minutes just today i was working and then randomly the electricity went out in my apartment. all my appliances shut off around me. this doesn't happen often, maybe like once a year. when this did happen, my computer was still running and i was still connected to the internet. everything was shutting off around me, yet i was still able to continue working on my PC as if nothing was happening a couple of minutes go by, and the electricity turns back on. i didn't even notice it was gone because i was so focused on work not only does this keep my PC powered on during outages, my internet stays on too. i didn't lose internet at all, everything was continuing to run smoothly as i've mentioned before though, this power only lasts about 5-10 minutes if you've got a PC plugged in. the PC draws quite a bit of power, so this back up battery can't last much long. but the point of me using this in the first place is so that if power gets interrupted, i have a back up that can bridge the gap. the outages i get last only a couple of minutes. i just need protection during that random abrupt hit, i don't need protection for hours this product has served me well

Communicates well with QNAP TS-230 NAS file server
I just received this UPS, so I can't comment on battery life. I got the 800VA/450W, 12 Outlets. It uses a 12V 9Ah battery that is very common and inexpensive, so when the original battery dies, it should be easy to find a replacement. I love that it has so many outlets, 6 with battery backup and 6 with only surge protection. I have many electronics connected, and this avoids using additional power strips. The main purpose of buying this UPS was to protect my QNAP TS-230 NAS during power outage. This is an entry level two bays file server. I wasn't sure if it would support communication with UPS backup battery. The QNAP manual for this model does not mention anything about connecting to UPS. I received the UPS and charged it overnight before connecting anything to it. It came with a USB A to B cable. The QNAP TS-230 has 3 USB ports: one is USB 2.0 speed and two are USB 3.0 speed. The USB 3.0 are designed for external drives to expand the capacity of the file server, so I figured I should connect the USB cable from the UPS to the USB 2.0 port on the back of QNAP. I turned the UPS on, waited a few seconds for it to come online and plugged the QNAP to one of the battery backup outlets. Next I turned on the QNAP. It takes about 5 minutes to boot. When I heard the second beep that indicates it's ready, I logged in into the QNAP from my computer. After a few seconds, a window appeared that an external device (CPS ABST800) was detected. I clicked on "View external storage settings" and it brought me to Control Panel>External Device>UPS. Here it showed the UPS manufacturer (CPS), the model (ABST800), the battery capacity and the estimated protection time. On this screen you can configure what the QNAP should do in case of power outage. I set it to turn off the NAS after 3 minutes of power outage. Next tested the setup: I unplugged the UPS from the wall. It started beeping every few seconds to indicate that it's running on battery. After 3 minutes on battery power, the NAS started an orderly shutdown process. After a few minutes, it shutdown completely. Perfect! As someone else mentioned, this UPS is manufactured by CyberPower, which is ubiquitous. This is an advantage in my opinion, because more clients are likely to support it than a smaller brand. For anyone that owns a QNAP NAS and is debating whether this UPS will work with it, it probably will.

Great price and works well
I haven't had it for long (less than a month), but so far it works great and is a very good price. No issues so far at all. I will update review if i do have issues. This is my third UPS but first from AmazonBasics. I normally buy the cyberpower one. This one is lacking the LCD screen that cyberpower has but i never use that anyway.

Actually built by CyberPower
It seems like a solid unit. These are actually built by Cyberpower, which uses the Cyberpower Powerpanel program to connect to Windows. The courier Intelcom delivered this to the wrong house. Thankfully, amazon was able to send a 2nd one out and I didn't have to fight with them or anything! It can be set up to turn off your pc automatically after a power outage, after it turns your pc off it will also shutdown the UPS about a minute after. Once power comes back on the UPS will automatically turn back on and if you have your PC setup accordingly in the BIOS your PC will also turn on automatically. One thing about this unit is if the battery of the UPS goes to 0% it will not turn back on automatically. But you shouldn't be draining it to 0% anyway. However, on my UnRaid server, I could not get this functionality to work. I can get it to turn off the server but not shutdown the UPS; as a result, I would have to manually turn on the server. It recognizes the UPS; I tried built-in UPS functionality and NUTS for the server, but neither worked. It works perfect on Windows though. I get about 50 mins of runtime on my PC if idling or browsing the web. Id recommend this UPS as long as your not wanting it to shutdown and restart non-windows servers, for anything windows it works great.

No issues. Easy to use.
No issues with this. Working as expected. Great for low draw products like a fiber to cat6 modem.
