Picked this up to use modern Bluetooth controllers with older consoles and it works exactly as advertised. Paired my 8Bitdo M30 to a Sega Saturn in about 30 seconds — plug the receiver into the controller port, hold the pair button, and you're done. The connection is stable and I haven't had a single dropout during sessions. The input latency is genuinely low. Playing Saturn fighting games with a modern wireless controller felt responsive and didn't affect my performance in ways I could notice. For older systems where input timing matters, this is the key thing you want to know. The receiver is tiny, which is great — it sits flush in the controller port and doesn't block anything. Build quality feels solid for the size. Compatible with a good range of 8Bitdo controllers and even some Nintendo controllers depending on mode. One practical note: make sure you know the mode your controller needs to be in for the target system. It takes a little reading of the compatibility chart but it's all straightforward once you know what you're looking for. For retro gaming enthusiasts who want the convenience of wireless without sacrificing the feel of using the right controller layout, this is an elegant solution.

Does not make any attempt to emulate the Saturn 3D Control Pad for games like Nights, Panzer Dragoon II, Daytona USA CCE, etc. Unless you're using an 8BitDo fightstick, there is no mode suitable for fightsticks (you want: RB/R1 is Z and RT/R2 is C). It does work well for what it provides, but consider this a barebones product.

It's not mentioned anywhere I can see, but the "almost" in almost all controllers is the 2.4g controllers like the M30 2.4g. You'll need bluetooth controllers to pair with this dongle.

Ursprünglich hatte ich 8bitdo schon aufgegeben, da die alten Receiver nicht mehr für neue Gamepads funktionieren. Von daher war dieser hier eher ein Test. Und den hat er mit Bravour bestanden. Aber ein Hinweis gleich vorweg: Nehmt von vornherein gleich Marken-Gamepads! Billige bringen den Receiver zur Verzweiflung bei Steuerung und Tastenbelegung. Xbox Controller funktioniert sofort und im Spiel ist alles flüssig. Getestet mit Tomb Raider, wo es direkt notwendig war, via analog zu steuern. Auch bei anderen Spielen gab es Null Probleme

Really easy to pair my 8bitdo M30 and Ultimate 2C BT controller (The switch one, I dunno if firmware is compatible out the box with it, I updated it using the software on the webpage), and really light, it even is the same color as my gray saturn. Box came in REALLY messed up and oily?, but fortunately the actual device came wrapped in plastic, so it didn't get damaged.
