Had been looking at getting a fixed 7.4kw charger installed, but the maths didn't work out for our use case.We already had an external socket on a 32a circuit (would have been fine on 16a as well), and the EV is a second car used for local journeys with a small battery (18kWh i3) which can be charged from flat to full in about 8 hrs on this charger.Prior research suggested Masterplug are well regarded, so seeing this on sale for £104 it seemed like a no brainer.The product is robust and seems like it will last as others have suggested. The display is very useful, showing charge rate etc not just status.The charger does not get hot (a slight concern i had with granny chargers in general), and its also a nice discreet colour (black and dark green, not white and neon like some others), which is a small detail, but none the less a benefit.Also bought a cheap £10 wall mount so use it exactly the same as a £1000+ fixed charger (minus the speed, which we dont need).When we eventually replace the main diesel estate with an EV, we will need a fixed charger, but this would then become the travel charger anyway

Had this a few weeks, does the job, nice and long, so not overstretched

This is a good quality item if you’re in need of a granny charger. Charges at 2.3kW, so no worries about overheating or damaging your domestic 3-pin sockets. Simply plug in and switch on. Has a long, heavy duty cable so no problems reaching from my garage to my EV. Just needs a bag to keep it tidy in the boot.

Delivered quickly and the charger works no bother at all. it only charges at 10 amp but that's fine for what I need. It is a well built product made by a reputable company
