Question 1

Glenn wants to know if it really worth it. Or should I make my own

Accepted Answer

ALWAYS build your own! You'll know inside and out what's in it, you can choose brands that while they may be more expensive, they are well worth it when it's a matter of survival. You can tailor it to your specific needs, climate, topography; what works for me here in a semi-rural area of a Mid Atlantic State is unlikely to be what someone in Montana or Southern California may need. Are you suburban, urban, rural? All these things must be taken into consideration. Also, as far a survival books go, no one has yet to produce one better than the SAS Survival Guide. Good luck to you and avoid these "ready-made" kits that are usually comprised of no-name Chinese crap. Buying something like this will only lullull you into a false sense of security. When your life and the lives of you family are on the line, don't cut corners!

Question 2

Is there an expiration date on this kit?

Accepted Answer

there is a self life to the water and food stuffs of fire years from packaging. there are some things that can be added by yoourself that have longer shelf lives like mre's that can last on the shelf for as much as ten years.i got this so i would have something in the truck if i ever got stuck on hiway during a winter storm when you might be there for a day or so. that down't happen too often but better to be ready for it.

Question 3

Is there space in the bag to add extra water like 4 bottles of water?

Accepted Answer

No

Question 4

I think the current Aqua Blox have only 6.75 oz (200 ml). Is that correct (One of those per person is certainly NOT enough for three days!).

Accepted Answer

the one I got last year has 4 one litre terrapack of water. this is a pick it up and go emergency pack and meant for an emergency so it is kinda minimalist, just enough to keep you going. I have added some 4 oz foil pacs and other stuff. but the back pac is tightly packed.
